yeah Zigg and Jeremy at STM we're great to deal with.

Andrew and I are going to look at the 2g Saturday afternoon.. get the complete list and figure out the cost to get it safetied

Ahh well thats unfortunate, hopefully you can find something used soon. What about a JDM Transmission, would one of them work? Could call someone like JDM Source to see if they could bring one in.

Flywheel step was checked prior to install and it was within spec. Trust me, I've done everything I can to get this to work properly. Next step is pull the transmission, measure the thickness of the new disk and discuss with SouthBend Directly. If they say its within spec, then I will be shimming the pivot ball, and replacing my flywheel with a ACT or Comp just because Tim recommends them.

The issue I am having is clutch drag at about 5000+ rpm. I have done everything Tim has recommended and it still isnt completely disengaging. I've read quite a few threads about people who say that you absolutely have to shim the pivot ball regardless, so I know I am not the only person with the same issue.

hhmmmm I'm having issues myself with my fidanza /southbend setup. I have to shift very slowly or it grinds like a mofo every time, never had this problem with my stock clutch/flywheel setup. I didn't shim my pivot ball either..... I really don't want to pull my tran again til its time for a built unit.[DOUBLEPOST=1416108570][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hey Garrett, who's got the '97 GSX for sale in Regina there? Looks like either yours or Dean's Talon in the second pic on the Kijiji add.

I just saw this now and maybe the add has been taken down. Any more info on it? Was it red with a body kit on it or something?

Yeah looks like the ad is gone. If I remember right it maybe just had a small body kit if anything, it was red with the big round wing, kinda looked like Linden's (spelt correctly?). There was a 1g like yours parked behind in the pic.

Well I dont think that Lyndon is selling his car, but I havent talked to him in a little while. It might have been Scott though, was it going for around $4000 and listed as not running?

IIRC there was something about it being an Ontario (or some other province) car and needing a Sask safety.

Yeah that was my friend Scott's car. Currently has the interior wiring harness removed, and he sort of lost interest in putting it back together haha. It does still need a safety done as well from when he bought it in Ontario.

Nice car, glad to see you picked that up, I was even debating buying that car for a while.

I just picked up a 95 Talon tsi awd Auto here this last week. Probably wont hang onto this one too long.

I was looking at buying that just for the trans. It seems like a decent car but it's got an awful lot of miles.

well as it sits.. needs a new starter, relay, and a top end rebuilt.. and tuning.. Running pig rich.. Im hoping to get back to work here in 2 weeks.. Then while im on the road dump around 4,000 into her...

Mike I know you got the 94 so I might need to pick your brain.

Andrews been nice to help me out.

My goal is 400 for this year by cruise weekend.

i'll be most likely working in Moose Jaw here soon.. Waiting for my birth certificate, and passport.

Once the cars running 100 % i'll have to visit ya :)

I'd definitely recommend pulling the whole engine and trans to do the top end btw, so maybe look into a bottom end as well.

the bottom end is done. got the history of the rebuilt june 2013, trans was down 60,000 km's ago, turbo's done 60,000 kms ago
im going to push start it tomorrow, then put her in storage.., most likely end up getting a few friends to help do a complete build or order a new forged engine. even tho mine is forged, internals. crank, pistons, rods already

I really am looking forward to getting her running,

Glad to see you picked up a dsm even if it isnt the 4g platform. I love the 3kgts i forget how much it was even on for.
I see my very first dsms up for sale yet again in prince albert......not as clean as it was when I had it thats for sure but glad to see shes still going strong. Haha

yeah, Im excited this will make a great highway cruiser and toy.

3kgts are much better for high speed cruising, that's what they're good at.

If the bottom end has been done, then I guess you'd be fine. I just thought may as well since I'd pull the engine anyway to do heads; it's very difficult to do still in the car.

p.s. just to be technical, a 3S is not a DSM, all 3S cars were built in Japan.

yeah I know 3s are not dsm's :) Just figured I'd still partake in the site since I got a few people like Andrew and yourself Mike to bounce ideas off.

I might do a complete rebuild over oct since the car will be sitting in storeage anyways

I'd volunteer to help but I'm busy enough trying to fix my damn tractor!

If my garage was heated, I would be willing to host ya. We'll get it figured out. Got the voltage issue figured out? If not, just run a distribution block.

Hey sorry to jump on your guys thread. Just nice that there are some guys on her from canada and not over the boarder. All subscribe to your guys thread and if I come across come car all keep you guys posted. I've been in and out of the dsm community for a couple years. There are some parts cars in my area.

Thanks guys!
My wide band started working again randomly, I checked all the grounds i could find and cleaned them up + added extra grounds to no avail it didn't seem to make a difference. It just randomly started working again..... my whole cars been weird for awhile. I think I need to do a little more research to see if possibly a bad ground circuit through the ECU can cause poor ignition circuit grounding.
Just last night my turbo grenaded, smoke pooring out of every where...it was actually kind of funny, I could see nothing when I stopped. Thankfully I was able to limp it home barely made it. I'm just about done swapping my good centre section in into the car, should be done in another hour.....getting Justin to build me a new one asap for a back up tho.
Sadly my ECMlink deal fell through and now its looking like I definitely cant afford it until tax time.

Hope you gents are having better luck, thinking I should have done what you did there Mike......just buy a good running DSM from the start haha.

Anyone have any idea what would cause boost to exit via VC breathers? I'm seriously stumped here.

Well, there are really only two possibilities. Either your PCV system is not working (replace the PCV valve with an OEM Mitsu only), or you have excessive blow by from leaking piston rings causing your crank case to pressurize.
