On a Jet Plane,
Illinois
Good afternoon, Tuners!
Over the weekend, I picked up another 2g Talon. Another Kona blue 2g Talon! The car is a 95 AWD, with 115k miles or so. Originally I wasn't looking for another Talon, as I just sold the automatic Kona blue 2g. The plan was to use the money to buy something newer for a daily. Well, because I did not ban myself from cragislist, I stumbled across this 2g on the Austin, TX criagslist. I had to inquire. HAD to.
Those of you that know me, and my illness... er.. weakness for blue Talons will know how this ends.
After a few weeks of chit-chat with the previous owner, helping him diagnose a few issues with the car, and waiting for his Evo to get done at the shop; the car was driven to San Antonio. It was then loaded on a car hauler and shipped to Chicago. Believe it or not, this was still cheaper than driving it back. I originally had planned to drive ti back, as I was working in Dallas for a few weeks. So what's a few more hours south, then back north? But after crunching the numbers, I decided to have it loaded on a hauler, and I hopped on a plane back home.
The car is stupid clean underneath. This is, by far, the cleanest Talon I have ever owned. Once I get some photos moved over from my phone, I'll upload some of the underside. I am the third owner, and the car has spent its entire life in Reno, NV; then Victoria, TX.
So the plan is now to transfer builds. TrboBlu V3.0 will become the fun car. And Trboblu will become the new daily driver. TB3 also has a functional A/C system. So I want to keep the car with A/C. What's more fun than having a quick street car with A/C! (Hence the name "project heavyweight)
Here's a few photos from yesterday, after a nice bath. I love how Trboblu makes this one look like a 4X4 truck!
