Hello DSM world, I been into dsms for a few years, this is my 3rd dsm and it was basically stock when I purchased, just had eibach sportlines when bought.

I wanted to build suspension and brakes before touching motor so I Installed KYB shocks with tein s tech springs with drilled slotted rotors and hawk pads.

Now looking to start the motor build, just did a whole bunch maintenance on the car fixing leaks and new belts and gaskets, looking to get about 300whp

Where should I start?

An Evo III 16G will get you there without breaking a sweat. You'll need bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, afpr, something to tune with (link will be your best bet) an fmic, basically supporting mods for the 16G.

I was looking to purchase one but hard to find a good clean one. I had 14b at 15psi on my prev gst and it pulled pretty hard for a DD, but I want more, so 16g with a max of 15psi seems safe for now, I was looking at intakes also to support the 16g either injen or extreme psi intake? They both are very similar just different name brand

Tuning should be priority #1. Without a way to monitor the engine the only "safe" boost is stock boost. Stock injectors won't support a 16g much past 10psi anyways, and you'll need a tuning setup to run larger ones.

Any of the 16g variants will do the trick. Big, Small, or Evo 3.

Honestly, an aftermarket intake is just for looks at this point. The stock rubber intake with a pod filter is more than enough. If anything just remove the inner BOV recirculation pipe (assuming we're talking 2g intake).

Upgraded Intake will probably help. I dyno 291hp max on a big 16g with stock 1g intake tubing, with the no air meter, than 317hp after switch to 3" piping. Not sure how much better the 2g intake is.

Well my build is beginning for my daily driver, just ordered a EVO 3 16g off of someone from dsmtuners and an install kit from forced performance. Next will be a punishment racing FMIC then will begin with the tuning and fuel system.

I made 300 with Evo injectors a Evo Mas and a ebay 1g with just my Epsom tuned with a chip my buddy burned oh yeah and a safc
