Hey I decided to test my IACV/isc whatever you wanna call it on my 90 talon since I had the tb off. I got very strange results. I watched jafros video on testing a 2g iac and I tested my 90 the same way. However my results were different. My test results were very consistent being the exact same resistance on each test. Is there a difference in ohms for a 90' talon iac? I have ecmlinkv3. Here's a video of what I did to test it.

And here's the video I copied my test procedure from as the vfaq link is broken.

You can fix the isc. You have to buy a replacement. Hit the local junk yards and take your multimeter to test em just like Jafro did. Or you could hit up people who are doing part outs. Im sure you can buy them at parts stores. Ive never checked and to buy a new oem one is expensive if they can still be had.

Remember if you cant find a 1g/2g dsm with the dohc motor you can always get the isc off of the, Mitsu 3000gt, Dodge stealth's, Mitsu diamante luxury sedan, Mitsu montero suv's, Early 1988-1993 dohc Mitsu Galants or the rare vr4s, some Hyundai sonatas and elantra's.

The ISC's come in two different colors they had the early 1g tan style ones, and the later black 2g style ones, And don't be fooled into thinking one is any better [if at all] then the other, I have seen both fail so nether of them are a bad choice assuming they work right, but if you do go the a wrecking yard and find more then one that tests good, I'd say buy more then one, just in case you need a spare, never a bad idea to think ahead a bit.

Hi. Really quick question here. I apologize for hijacking in advance.
Does the resistance value differ from Brown/tan IAC to black IAC? Is the resistance value of the black iac also within 28 and 32 ohms?
Thanks

I would really like my throttle bodies rebuilt. Mostly cause I'm interested in the half-shaft mod and these are virgin throttle bodies that have already been abused. I have a 95 that's leaking and this 90 that's got a failed ISC. TMZ performance http://tmzperformance.com/DSM Throttle Body Rebuilds.html that's more local quoted me $125 each and $40 for the failed isc which was the same as steve from http://www.throttlebodys.com/DSMTBs.htm for anyone interested in outsourcing their rebuild

An iac that reads a higher resistsnce such as say: 39ohms across, is it good? I know that as mentioned earlier, the resistance should be between 28-32 ohms. However, in the video it also metions that a higher resistance works too and as it shows on the video, the iac/isc that was picked at the junk yard, it seems tthat the resistance reads about 38 or so ohms and takes it with him.
I found a black iac that measures 39ohms across and wanted to know if its good. Thanks.

Ah. Interesting! This is nice to know. So it seems that they both have different resistance values. So, the tan IAC should measure 28-32 ohms and the black
one should measure 38-40 ohms? Is this right?
I have been looking for the right values for both kinds of IAC/ISC. This should also help anyone that has some doubts. So with this said: if anyone knows the resistance value of the black iac, can you please post it?
Thanks guys and again and O.P, Sorry for hijacking the thread.
