Hello to all. I live in MS. I love the eclipse, always have and always will. I'm, now, driving my 3rd and (hopefully) last. It's a black '98 gst with all leather interior. It's the one I've always wanted, and I'll drive it until it can't be driven.

Welcome. I thought I'd say hi since everyone is too busy gawking over Jessica. Glad to hear you got the "one". I finally just got my newest addition, the one I've been wanting since high school when they were new and unaffordable to me, a 97 tsi awd. Dreams do come true! Now the nightmare begins LOL

Welcome! I feel the same way about my eclipse being driven until it cant be no more. W.e you are going to do with it (mod or keep stock) they are always fun to DD or track! :thumb:

So right about the nightmare, PlanZero. Pulley broke, took out belts, jumped time, and now misses on #2.
EclipseGst95, I want to do some mods. Nothing extreme. Gonna stop somewhere around 275 hp. It's my only car, though, so, I'm in somewhat of a bind, right now.

Thanks for giving a guy a warm welcome, all of you. Napa says they have a remanufactured engine from the factory. So I'll start with that, then start a new thread for the build.

$2735 plus a $400 core charge. It's expensive, but it's buying me time. It gets me back driving while I rebuild the old engine. Can't really afford it, but I'm out of options. Gotta be able to go to work.

Thanks for the welcome. And, yeah, it's expensive. I'm buying my car all over again. I'm hoping that a factory job will last a looong time, though.

Can't find a place to post a buyer beware, so... Avoid NAPA IF POSSIBLE. They said they had the engine, let me order the engine, took my money, and gave me a delivery date. 3 days later, they say they don't have the engine and don't know when they will.

Jeez. That is bad management.

For that price you should be able to pick up a stock rebuild kit and have a machine shop build your engine?

you cant find a good used one cheap at a yard for now?

Nothing locally. Only 3 places in 70 miles will touch a Mitsubishi. Found a place that'll build the engine for me. Ordering it in the morn. Anybody needing a used one can get it at Quality Used Engines.

Burnette's Remanufactured Engines has 1 or 2 cores to build a 4g63t long block. They are charging $2295, with a 5 yr warranty, unlimited miles.
