I'm in north Texas. I've recently bought a 95 talon tsi fwd. The car has a spun bearing and has left metal shavings throughout the oil passages. I'm frugally repairing this car and joined this forum for suggestions on a solid rebuild without selling my unborn children to get it back on the road.

The car looks as though minor performance mods have been done. IE balance shaft delete, three inch exhaust, drop kit, performance clutch sticker LOL, turbo timer, AC removed, KnN air box upgrade.

I suppose the proper method is deductive reasoning at this point.

jacksonautomachine is going to have a sale on short blocks soon maybe
but for cheap I would go for a stock 6 bolt with fresh rebuild look though classifieds you can always get a 16g turbo cheap.
Must haves for performance
dsmlink v3
uego wideband
forced performance race manifold get asap on sale
walbro 255
bigger injectors depends on what you want
new timing belts and maintenance all around period
you can get cheap second hand performance parts or new their is a great deals if you look

Wow Quick response thank you for your time Burst! I will definitely check out your recommendations. I'm probably just gonna rebuild the 7 bolt thats in er. Not looking for a racer just a cool daily that can get outta its own way.

You have come to the right place my good sir. If you woul kindly sign on the dotted line with your blood please and we shall help you, as well as we can.

I like the Idea of a rebuilt 6 bolt motor. Is there ECM issues? I am looking at replacing the crank and all teardown seals, possible rod replacement and a through cleaning. Even though the cause of the spun bearing is undetermined i'm confident enough in my mechanic skills to decipher what failed and make proper repairs LOL.
