Looking to tint my talon myself.
How much tint do I need? I can get a 24"x 10' roll for $7 shipped (Maxpro)
Or I can get 20"x70' for 25ish shipped (Maxpro)
I want to get more then I need incase of f*** ups..

So how much do I really need?

24" doesnt sound like enough. lift gate is a huge surface area and a pain in the ass. Especially if it's the curved window. Took a professional guy 3 tries to get it right.

I went ahead and got 30"x90' for 30 shipped with two day shipping.

I'm not sure how it equals out. But you would need 3-4 boxs if you got it at like Walmart or checkers. I think I can do it with 3 but if you make a mistake you may need more. I say screw all that and get this precut stuff!! So much easier to install and looks amazing. ive been using them for years and have great success. I used 4 24"x36" rolls. Like what advanced has. I did the back window first, then the front Windows and then used my cut offs for the little back Windows. To make life easier, spray the outside of the Windows, lay it out and trim it down to fit your car, then when it's all cut down, you can put the nice trimmed down piece right in.

How hard is it to do the back window? It's pretty curved imo

I did mine in 5 different pieces. I spray the back window with soapy water, lay the tint out, work out some of the bubbles, also I get a light and put it on my hatch cover inside the car shining out towards the window (make sure the bulb isn't hot enough to burn the carpet that's on it) I make all my cuts on the window heater lines. It's a perfect line. Then make all my final cuts around the window. Now it's ready to be put in the inside of the car. When doing it on the outside of the car, MAKE SURE the clear film (the sticky side) in the tint is towards you or you'll be doing everything backwards and wasted the tint.

Also, if you do go to advanced or something. Make sure it isn't the 9.99 rolls, splurge for the 13.99 a roll. The cheap stuff turns purple in a year or so.

The back window will be a pain, when I had my other dsm tinted it gave them some trouble just because it's shaped like a fish bowl
