MY 95 eagle talon tsi doesnt allow me to go past 4.5k. it has a 16g turbo still running stock boost and 190 fuel pump and a recirculating hks BOV and intake with a cone air filter and intercooler. I have no fpr but from what ive read online it shouldn't be a huge deal. my air fuel gauge reads that im running super rich when i hit boost so i was thinking it could be a boost leak but i don't really have a good way to check that right now. my boost gauge will read up to like 8 or 9 psi. the only other thing i was thinking could be wrong is the maf. when i hit like 4.5 its not at all like hitting a brick wall like ive heard other people Describe with the similar problem. it just goes to 4.5 and just doesn't feel like going any higher i guess LOL. also there is no CEL on. also it idles a lil rough and when i shift it seems to almost stall and then the rpm goes back up[DOUBLEPOST=1407719826][/DOUBLEPOST]I checked to make sure all my piping had good conections but I couldn't find any thing bad I also looked at the fins on my turbo and they seemed fine[DOUBLEPOST=1407732207][/DOUBLEPOST]also forgot to say that it doesn't make any weird noises and it feels pretty slow when i try to accelerate.

welll I just installed the t25 in my car and i just need to get the oil feed line hooked up. i changed out my piping and shit to so hopefully all goes well LOL.[DOUBLEPOST=1413295057][/DOUBLEPOST]next thing ill check is clogged cat

Just had a car in the shop that wouldnt go past 4000 rpms, nor shift. Turned out to be a clogged cat. Run open down pipe and see how it goes.
Glad to see that was the fix to your problem :D No one ever thinks of this, unless it has happened to you! I had crushed my cat in my camaro going over new speed bumps at work, one day I went to down shift to first,
I heard nothing from the motor, i felt the car kinda squeeze together then BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM sounded like a ton of TNT going off, then it was snowing!! Gutted the cat and muffler in one shot from that, later I had to remove the exhaust because it didn't clear all the honey comb out, which broke apart eventually and clogged the cat again, causing no power, no rpms after 3-4k ect :)

Yeah i hAve found some but they don't fit in the t25[DOUBLEPOST=1413380811][/DOUBLEPOST]I even had bolts the same size but it wouldn't thread in. I'm just sick of looking so I ordered the oil feed line

Don't you just love that! When you really need something you find every road block in your way, when you don't need it or want it, or have the money, it's right in front of your face!

you should do a boost leak check maybe that is why your boost is so low.also check your boost controller make sure that is working properly. you can bypass the boost controller and connect the line from the intake manifold to the wastegate . your boost pressure will be determined by the spring in the wastegate actuator . once your boost rises you won't be as rich and you don't need a fuel pressure regulator . only time i needed one was after i rewired my fuel pump.

how hard were you driving the car when it started? I had a similar situation and it turned out to be a head gasket.. I was racing when it happened... LOL.. the car started and ran but wouldn't go above 4k.

If it revs high in neutral check your Biss screw and seal. Also another way for boost leakage is if your boosting and your gauge drops or you get instant fuel cut from wot. Maf plays a big roll in our motors.

I had the same issues you had and I replaced all my intercooler couplers with 6 ply couplers and replaced my maf, then built my own boost controller and everything went away.

I bought a jdm evo 3 motor and pulled the fuel rail off the yellow top 550cc injectors and the big 16g and slapped it all in my 2g and no issues, of course you'll have to hop on ecm link or dsm link and change the injection ratios and what not so your not throwing a cel.

I stress doing a boost leak test, checking your Biss and maf.

Also from what I've learned our cars don't run right if you have a cel on. You can make a boost leak tester for about 10$

Biss will not cause this. You could remove the biss and it wouldnt stop the car from free revving. Given what weve already heard this sounds like a big intake leak or a big exhaust restriction.

It only revs a lil bit higher when I'm in neutral.[DOUBLEPOST=1413462526][/DOUBLEPOST]I don't think it's a headgasket. I dont burn any coolant or anything plus it's been this way for like 2 months and it never over heats or anything

mine just started doing something similar. if i get on it at about 4grand my car keeps cutting out. like it sputters hard as hell an has a really rough idle as well. and my car is straight piped. and i have walboro 255 fuel pump, afpr, egr block off plate, dsmlink, and plx sm-afr. any ideas
Change your fuel filter. I had the same dang thing happening. Just changed filter 2 days ago after checking everything else and wahlaa! Runs like a brand new gsx! Its cheap and easy too.

changed fuel filter and plugs and now its worse. did compression test(175 across the board). mind you right before i changed these parts it got worse. now the car wont go past 5psi boost before it seems to not have any guts and runs rich as hell but will still boost but is shaky as hell and sounds horrible like bogged down. any ideas

Sounds like a maf problem. Check the wiring to maf connector and if you can, swap it with a known good maf.[DOUBLEPOST=1413771276][/DOUBLEPOST]

Have you done a boost leak test?

do you have anybody that you could swap ecus with I see you pretty much checked the basics as fair as piping and all. the turbo could be our problem if it has enough play. but I would swap turbos and if problem is still there swap for the right ecu

Ive been waiting for the oil feed line still LOL. I should have everything done today[DOUBLEPOST=1413895379][/DOUBLEPOST]the part was supposed to be here last Friday the suspense is killing me LOL

I got that oil feed line in and I can hear the turbo spool hard but I get like no power. Must be a massive boost leak. I think it's where my hks bov is. Gonna order that gasket and try again. At least I'm not running a shitty turbo any more though[DOUBLEPOST=1413948813][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm taking it to my friends house soon to check everywhere for boost leaks

Have you made a boost leak tester? If you haven't I recommend making one! 5-6$

Shouldn't have to move the car to check for leaks :)

Do the BLT "boost leak test" and if you smoke or know a smoker have them blow the smoke by all your pipe connections, if it's leaking, the smoke will blow away! "I've had best of luck doing this in a garage!"
Warning smoking is bad for you, so is second hand smoke!
So if your not a smoker, use protection :)
