Hello all,

I've been on this site for quite some time. But have only been a browser, so here's to me starting my first thread.

I have a Mitsubishi Evolution 3. It has some simple but extensive upgrades. To name a few it has:
A built bottom end
HKS 264 cams
S90 throttle body with mani mods
JMF O2 housing
Tail 38mm wastegate
Ported turbine housing
And most importantly an Evo 8 ECU
Evo 8 injectors

With that said let me get to my never ending story.

Im currently experiencing an issue with starting/driving the car. When it starts I have to rev it on order for it not to die. I've done extensive reading through numerous threads and sites. And I've done everything possible to get rid of any leaks possible. Which include a full 3" exhaust and vbanded for for ease of access and again prevention of leaks. I did the S90 mod to get rid of the leaks on the intake system. I install aftermarket fpr to help with the new fuel. The car has been tuned for the evo 8 ecu. I also did a boost leak test to put the icening on the cake.

So...today I went to the small stuff. Which were the IAC, fan switch, and temp sensor. Which apparently all still work. But just in case I asked a buddy of mine to lend me his so I could swap them out to see if they were the issue.

Ive just changed them out and yet...nothing has changed. Still a crappy idle with lean afr...but the car runs fine once warmed up. However the afr still reads lean. If I drive the car the afr only changes when the injectors start to see load or the car starts to build boost. And yes... I bought a new bosch O2 sensor for the aem widband.

This all started a few months back when my fuel pumps failed, and in turn that lead to the fuel, intake and exhaust modifications.

I replaced the two fuel pumps with an intank dechwerks 300lph pump and a inline bosch 044 as that is how the car came set up from Japan.

If anyone on here can give me an answer or a solution for ANYTHING in whatever way. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your time

Was the car running perfectly fine with the evo8 ecm before all this happened? One thing I would suggest is to check for short/grounded wires, if u can wile the engine is running (be careful tho) move or wiggle the wire harness in different spots and points just to see if there is any change in the idle of the car if there is you might have a problem in one or more wires. Good luck man.

i would cheek the spark plugs you wire coils and mybe even injectors
