I'm new to the dsm world and need some help with my 98 spyder gsx can't figure out surging idle, a/f ratio. It has a gt35r turbo and maf translator pro but other then that I have no clue how to set everything up.

I'll be honest, that's nowhere near enough to provide even a shadow of a prognosis for you situation. Things like boost leaks, exhaust leaks, base settings not being set to spec would be a few things I looked at. Also what tuning solution are you looking at? Are you running a wideband O2 sensor as well?

I've never messed with anything like this before so I'm pretty lost at what to do. Yes I've got a wideband which most of the time reading in the between 10s and 14s and for tuning it has the translator pro maf eliminator which I'm guess is part of my problem but I'm not sure how it's supposed to be set up

Tuning with a MAF-T isn't the best solution. It's kinda like trying to kill a mosquito with a tack hammer, sure it's fun trying it, but not really too useful. Without a CEL or some sort of logging method, there's really a limited set of standard answers to give. I'm also assuming that you're running a GM MAF in a blow through configuration, your exhaust isn't allowing boost creep, you have no boost/Vacuum leaks and your base idle and timing are set to factory specs. All very dangerous assumptions. While I don't find it hard to believe someone bolted on a 35R and Maf-t, there's not enough supporting mods to keep that engine happy in even the slightest.

I've been reading anything I can about tuning with the maf - and doesn't seem to be all that good but I'm stuck with it for the time. I just have to find a place or someone that is familiar with it to at least get it tuned best possible until I can get a dsmlink. Do you have a recommendation to 2 here I can take it?

Did the car actually ever run right since you've had it? I'm not imparting blame, just trying to isolate if there was a change that happened.
A logger of some sort would help, you can look at a few things that could help figure it I think. I may have a few days later next week PM me if you're interested

Have you boost leak tested your system? Tested the IAC? Also do you know what your fuel system setup is?

maft pro is the one that has a handheld type device with a lcd screen and some buttons to make adjustments right?

I have not boost leak test but I've gone through and checked and re tightened all clamps. Yes the maft pro has led display and can adjust far as fuel system fuel system I have no clue. I've never had a import or boosted car before. What I'm probably gonna having to do is find a shop to have it tuned and find out what all is done.
