Thanks Anthony

I know the 4G63-T comes in 6 bolts and 7 bolts. I've heard the 6 bolts are better though.

The start up video is from the 61, I was wishing it had cams but it didn't. We will start preparing the 63 this weekend as the Flywheel should be here tomorrow.

A little story about the 63....before buying the 61 I went and called every junker known in the country looking for the 63 but they are almost impossible to get. I even went to the same place I bought it and they didn't even knew they had it, it was hidden between all the engines and they found it a couple of weeks ago, I got it for 900usd without ECU, transmission, engine harness, I already have th 16g but will upgrade after the clutch has around 500 miles and when the engine proves to be reliable after the swap.

I think I have an Evo I ECU, would that cause any problem?

Looking good bro. Looks like your having fun, that's all that matters. Just in response to your post above, not sure how you ment that the 4g63 is 7 bolt, but they come 6 bolt as well and are better short blocks. Kinda sounded like you thought only the 61 was 6 bolt, if not then my misunderstanding.

As far as boost, the stock 14B, I would keep it at no more than 14 psi for now. If your getting a 16g soon, then I would wait to turn it up. Plus stock fuel system is only good for 16-18ish psi through the smaller 16g, I think the big 16g boo uld need more fuel.

That start up video sounded good, like it had some cams LOL. The new engine you got, where did you get it from? Any history on it?

Keep up the good work, god bless,

Anthony B.

Also that intake manifold looks like an evo3, you might have gotten a come up.

Man good find, makes me want to look through the junk yards around here, who knows if there's gold that they don't know about.

Post pictures of the ecu.

Did you find out anymore details about the engine? It might be pieced together because if it was an evo 3 it would have the 16G but it has the 14B but also has the evo intake manifold so it can have more surprises inside??

Anthony B.

These junkers has so many things that they don't even know what they have. The best thing is just to take some time and look through yourself.

I don't have more info about the engine. I thought the intake manifold was stock. Let's hope for good surprises inside but it really doesn't look like the valve cover has ever been opened.

According to my research it's an Evo I ECU, i'm not sure if this will bring problems as the Evo I brought a 1,800cc engine if i'm not mistaken.

This is the ECU, it came with the car when I bought it, it did not came with the 63 engine I just bought:

So, the flywheel arrived
arrived

I have to wait to open up the Ecu, seems to be an eprom but we'll know as doon as I open it up and check it out but the injectors are black top

God bless you!

That ecu is definitely a EVO 1 ecu per the sticker on it, open it up and post a picture. Also if you can check to see what color injectors are on that engine. And that is an EVO 1-3 intake manifold, so that's the last manifold you'll need for your goals. Good find.

God Bless,

Anthony B.

My mechanic said the engine mounts didn't fell into place, he would have to do aome work to get it to fit. Could the engine just come from an Evo and that's why it didn't fell in place?

If so, are there any differences in specs between the 4G63-T from an Evo and an Eclipse?

Post pictures of the mounts on the engine.

Nevermind that, turned out the previous owner gave me the original engine mount. Found it home and the engine is in already, pending electrical work as the harness has to be modified for this one.

That good news. Everything's falling into place for you. Not so your me LOL, there are so many little small things going wrongs it's causing days of work. My little brother broke and stripped two AL jay alt kits and now finally ordered a steel. Those two kit I got first would not fit no matter what we did, I hope my luck turns and I can get stuff done.

Good luck on the wiring, it's not that hard, most get intimidated by looking at hundreds of wires, but if you just keep cool and label things, it will be really strait forward.

Anthony B.

So sorry to hear that Anthony, I am hopeful your luck will change this week and you'll be able to have the work done. My luck usually doesn't last long jaja.

I can work on the car but I have a certain respect to electrical work, but the guy I have working on it is an expert, hopefully the car will be ready this week.

What do you use to lable the wires? Don't know why I never thought about it :p

Engine is in, have to do some things though:

1- My radiator needs to be placed a cap for the coolant as it doesn't have it and this engine doesn't have it to the left of the valve cover.
2- I have to get another downpipe or have it custom made. I would take the opportunity to upgrade my stock exhaust system. Would 2.5 inch be ok?

1fa9zjb.jpg

2.5 inch should be ok unless you want to get a lot of power in the future then go with the 3 inch.

I see you have some good mechanics. Im visiting my family there in DR next year and I will hopefully visit a few stores and junk yards to get me some goodies. Keep up the good work

Nice now you got the right 2.0 motor man, next stop 4g64 LOL, no I'll bet you'd be happy with the legendary 4g63t for some time.

You shouldn't have to worry about crank-walk if it's a jdm motor, most of them had not suffered from it but it's not a bad idea to inspect the crank play on any old used motor.

And as far as how much psi to run... well I'd say it depends on the tune, if you have a way to tune the car that would be a wise way to spend your money on some type of tuning software, like ecmlink or some type of piggyback fuel controller, before raising the boost.

After you have a tunning system, its also a good idea to invest in a true wide band o2 gauge setup installed so you can tune it any way you want to, or you can have a trained tuner tune it for you.

Thank you! If you need anything just let me know. I know most of the stores owners and have good contacts at the yards.[DOUBLEPOST=1411873248][/DOUBLEPOST]

Finally man! I'll be ok with the 63. My immediate goal is to have it running without problems. Then upgrade the turbo and manifold with the ones I already have, then esthetics, then an 11 second car.

I am not sure about dsmlink as no one knows much about them. We get a lot of Power FC, AEM, etc.

I like your plans, not too far out of reach, but still quite effective as a street/track car:thumb:.

when it comes to tuning, get whatever you feel comfortable tuning with, that would be my suggestion.

And no matter what tuning software you use, I would still say you should get a true wideband gauge setup, like the innovate mtxl series, or the innovate lc1, or lc2 series.

I just got my lc2 setup for my own dsm [future build] never a bad idea to start collecting parts for a build... or a planned build:sneaky:.

yea definitely get a wideband, I would say first before any other tuning software. or at the same time. I would definitely get ecmlink V3 full, even if theres not many people around you that aren't familiar with it, there is way too much info about it not to become good at tuning with it.

There's also tuners on here that can remote tune your car and one guy I know for sure that can do a damned good job at it. I can even help via phone or e mail. I honestly think it will be a good idea, not only is it user friendly, but it gives you so many options for the price and you can easily learn yourself to tune your own car, so when you reach your goals you know you did it and can feel that much better about it. Plus if you don't like things, its just a click away, literally.

Goodluck, post more pictures and god bless.

Very nice! I have an AEM Uego but have to order the power cable. What are your plans with your DSM?[DOUBLEPOST=1412000692][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thank you Anthony, that sounds awesome!

I always forget to order de Power cable for the Wideband :p

Will be posting more in the upcoming days as i am just missing some electrical connectors to be ready.

God bless.

My plans are to build a monster motor for street/track not sure on turbo selection or anything as of yet, but I am researching my options, I chose the reliable+fast mantra... which unfortunately =$$$$$, so I'm taking my time with it researching parts selection etc. and I still have to build a minor addition to my garage too so I can do the build right in the first placeLOL.

Reliable and fast huh! Jaja.

I've already made my parts wishlist but undecided on the turbo. In here Precisions 6262 are popular and have given great results but i've seen Holsets in here, so I dunno.

Thank you guys!

We fired up the car yesterday. Had a weird sound in the transmission, the guy said that since we put in a new clutch and flywheel there is something scapping (Don't know what it is but that he would need to reduce it).

Did you use the 2G Starter/transmission alignment plate?

Unless i'm wrong the alignment plate is something like the picture below right? If that's it, then no, the clutch kit came with another one and that was the one used:

This is the one that came with the clutch kit:
