Well my cruise control for some reason stoped working so i said F it dont care to find out why ill just delete it! Yes i onow there is a non cruise cable you can by but as all of us are dsm owners im a cheapskate LOL. So i decided i would make this work for free! So i pulled all the cruise parts out and was trying to find a way to do this. After i pulled everything apart i ay 1st was thinking the pre-existing cable that went to the pedal would work by its self well i was wrong. So next i thaught what about the cable that originaly went to the throttle lever, as it already has the bracket for the intake manifold monting. I took off the part that went to the pedal and took it out made 1 cut along the yellow clip that holds it to the pedal (pic 1). I made the cut so i could slide the cable out and placed it on the end of the cable i planned to use. I then i made a very small loop with the cable under the intake and ran through the firewall (dont do this). Instead take the part that boltsto the fire wall so you can mount it but just a flat plate (pic 2). Then simply either weld on a nut or jb weld a nut on. Dont use a new nut just the one that is on the cable your using because the barrel at the end of the cable will not fit through the nut. Now all you do is thread the metal slead of the cable into that nut and use the second nut to tighten up to that other nut and it cant go anywhere. Bam you have your non-cruise cable for free with very minimal modification.

Now that i know how to do it i dint see why it should take any longer than 30mins!

When I did this I had a very sticky, touchy pedal as well. It definitely is a good little trick but finding the right non-cruise cable from the Galant definitely provides a smoother actuation of the throttle since there are no tight bends and kinks which is inevitably what you get from using the cruise box-to throttle one since its the wrong length. No matter what I tried, it somehow has to do a tight loop or turn in the engine bay to make it to the firewall in the right position. Still, good effort and write up for those who are looking to eliminate the cruise for free LOL.

Mine doest stick at all. mine moreless opened up when installed under the intake. i had the noncruise on my 1g and seems no differant at all well! worst case if someone has a problem this way it didnt hurt to try, and can order a real noncruise.[DOUBLEPOST=1411521139][/DOUBLEPOST]By touchy i just meant feels like a batter throttle response. According to my safc still getting 100% throttle.

I removed cruise just by removing the cruise cable from the junction on the firewall and removing it from the cruise control actuator on the strut tower.

Does the same trick with less messing around. I could remove the cruise actuator now without issues, but have not felt the need to yet.

I thaught i could do that but it didn't work on my car LOL

U know you can just make a small bracket and use the oem cruise cable! I've done it on several dsm's just have to route or loop along valve cover then back around to TB, I just made a simple bracket that slipped on and allowed my to bolt to intake. Peddle felt great just like oem.
