Hey everybody I need help with my 97 GST Spyder.

List of engine mods
Apexi Turbo timer
Auto t25
Injen and filter intake
Thermal R&D Catback exhaust
Arp head stubs
Cometic HG
GSP FMIC
Synapse BOV with anti stall valve(works like IAC simulation but without link):hellyeah:
Gates Racing timing and BS belts
2.4 L transmission
2.4 L axles
ACT 2600 street clutch and ppressure plate

My story begins in the morning. ive been driving the car for months now after doing a HG, block & head resurface, head rebuild, oil port mod, water pump and ARP head studs. The car drove better then before. No more HLA tick. Fired right up 1st try after assembly. I primed turbo before 1st start up. So today I dont know what happened I got up left to work stalled around the coner. I restarted it and stalled after 2-3seconds got out popped the hood looked for leaks around the head....nothing. Moved the FMIC pipes n/a peaked at the timing belt at the cam gears and crank pulley seem on time I try again I noticed that stock boost gauge slowly drops til its the negatives at stalles. The car idles and sounds normal til stock boost falls all the way down. Turns over everytime 1st try runs then dies. I checked the turbo no shaft play, blades look the same no oil on cold side. Checked ecu caps still good no leaks. No CEL. imma try with my 98 black ecu for codes but ill wait til the morning becuase Its 2am Im so lost. :idontknow:

Check all vac lines and ic piping do a boost leak test.
Check your 02 sensor
Check your 02 simulator, could be faulty.
Test your maf sensor and its harness

I tired my black box ecu, same issues.I checked the spark plugs there still new. They are the NGK copper tops. CAN the O2 sensor can really cause this problem??? I mean I havent messed with the o2 sensors. I only added a mini cat to rear sensor with my cat delete down pipe, i removed it and install the cat back for smog test last week. Which is still on when this happened.

I would check your tps sensor or It could be your maf wiring. I had that issue and it was a bad connection from the cars plug harness to the actual maf sensor

Soo I just torn apart my GST to see if its out of timing and so far it is not. Ive aligned all timing mark over a dozen times. So that is ruled out. Ive turn everything with no plugs to not fight compression. I replaced the IAC Valve today after it stayed on with the old 1 unpluged. Car does shoot a CEL for it, it does idles. i give it some gas it turns off and found a broken TPS while removing TB IAC & FIAV, I had a spare TPS just need to adjust it. Cleaned the TB BY hand reinstalled problem still exists. Front o2...i have no idea how old it is but I got great gas mileage $30 for all the highway cruising. Imma check the MAF right now after I assemble everything back again.

I just check the MAF. I clean connects. Harness look normal, no damage on the connector. I cleaned the MAF by hand removed the honey comb and sprayed them with Carb cleaner. Now im crossing my fingers.

New up date while I was playing with the IAC i decided to install the US Plastics check valve between PCV & IM. How ever i got carried away and i forgot install them amd turn the engine on. The car stayed on longer this time. But dies after I give it some gas. On the Apexi Turbo timer it reads 10.0 im pretty sure thats rich so imma try put in a new front o2 sensor in the morning.

Does ECMLink tell you anything about what is going on with the car? (If you have it?) Could tell you if the timing is off or if the AFR is way off. My 99 does this but its related to the ethanol. It has to warm up first. Theres another thought, have you let it idled enough to warm up and then does it still die out?
Engines ultimately are pretty simple -- air fuel and spark... the question is which one is hanging up your car

From what you've said about it running fine at idle but giving it gas kills it, might be a fuel pump/pressure issue. I'm putting money this is where your issue lies! If it was spark or timing that problem would be evident at idle.

I dont have LINK but I do have a 99 blk box ecu. I haven't flashed it, I just use it for a backup spare ecu. I know for sure it is still in timing, its not off timing. Every point is still is where they need to be after 6 full turn aglins perfectly. Fuel pump relay under the passenger kick panel and fuel pump is next to check. I have more then 1/4 of gas. Aproximately 4 gallons/2trips with a gas can to a station. As of last night. As far as boost leak im still waiting for the epoxy to dry...im making one. And finally I do have a spare stock FPR. Ill switch it make sure too. Hopefully I find the answer to my problem.

I just popped a different one, still dies. After a small throttle step. I didnt check the relay. I think imma do the Fuel pump rewire. More and more im slowy getting depressed. If I get off early imma check the torque on ARPs & do a compression test.

A stab???[DOUBLEPOST=1411615885][/DOUBLEPOST]Im really sure that means. But more and more im beginning to think the comtic HG might be shot if so im blaming the machine shop that resurfaced both blocks for doing it correctly.

Yea, failed at any type of humor on that one, one of my camaro's would Idle fine, but as soon as I gave it gas, it would die. I couldn't figure it out, so while Idle I walked behind the car and didn't smell the exhaust like I normally would, I had my brother press on the gas while I held my hand in front of the exhaust pipe, very little exhaust coming through and the car died. I pulled off the cat, "it was only 3 months old" and the honeycomb had fallen apart and was blocking airflow big time! I stabbed that stuff out with a shovel handle problem fixed!

Very interesting!!! Ive been running my catless downpipe the whole time up until smog and reg renewal. Good thing tomorrows my day off and go into hardware mode till I have it going again.
I have checked oil and coolant which are both clean from my rebuild. No milky stuff. Coolant is SUPER green its not even cloudy. I check the torque on the Head still held down tight to ARP suggested torque . Ill do a compression test and probably a FP rewire. and check that catalytic converter.

Its been a few days im been really busy with work and getting more and more depressed! Ive checked the torque on the ARPs, they are exactly where I left them. Ive replaced the FP & MFI Relay. Ive gotten a new spark plug wireset ive tested my MAF with another GST mine works great. As for the Boost leak test...my compressior broke. -_- im not sure what else to check
