I need someone who has a high knowledge of 2g awd transmissions. I've had 2 in 1000 miles fail. Trans pump both times. My 97 is 6 bolt swapped with the Kiggly adapter. Another local buddy of mine has had this issue and he also has no answers. The converter wipes the tangs of the pump out and free spins. Is this common on 6 bolt swapped 2g autos? Locally all I find is terrible luck with kiggly adapter cars. Motor is stock, on a ebay 20g, with an fmic. That's it nothing special I use it for a DD. Anyone with any input to this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Kenny

Might be time to call a trans shop. I deal with t.r.e. personally because the shop is in town. Not too sure if he can help with autos though.

Have you tried to add another stock starter plate?
When you mated the trans to the motor, did you have to pull the converter to the flexplate? The TC should spin freely when everything its all bolted up.
Are you reusing the TC?

Make sure you have the pilot bushing in the end of the crank or you will eat pumps all day. If the 6 bolt crank was from a manual car then you will definitively need to source a new one.
Some times it is called a Pilot Bushing or Crankshaft Spacer. The part number is MD756767

Why would he have to source a new crankshaft if his original was from a manual car? The only difference I saw in mine was that the 5 speed crankshaft had dowel for the flywheel. I just removed that and everything went together like it was supposed to per the kiggly paper instructions.

With the kiggly plate, you shouldn't really need the pilot bearing, but if you want it, you can order it from ExtremePSI for like $13 and install it.

My apologies my mind was moving faster than my fingers. He does not need to source a new crank shaft, but a new bushing. A manual crankshaft would not come with the Automatic Pilot bushing. If you look at the install instructions for the flex plate, I believe the red part in the upper diagram is the pilot bushing.

The best bet would to contact Kiggly.

Well here's the official update and fix. Called Kevin. Spent 45 minutes initially bouncing ideas back and forth.
everything was installed correctly. Kevin explained that mitsubishi was extremely sloppy on clearances and crazy tight on tolerances. Which...Explains alot from the 10 plus years I been playing with these junk piles.
Last Saturday pulled the motor for the 5th and final time. The flexplate under load was hitting the block. I originally had crank/ flexplate / flexwasher / bolts. Now it's in crank/flexwasher / flexplate / flexwasher / bolts. What was the root cause was the bolts were bottomed out on the pilot bushing and weren't tight completely. Pulling by hand you couldn't move it but load of the engine did.
Now it's fine under any conditions. Updated with Kevin so he knows to tell someone else if they have this issue. Only bad thing is my starter sounds like it engages sloppy when cold now. That I can live with. 1k on my rebuild and 600 miles on the trans since fixing and no issues. Thanks to all who helped and gave input!
