Hi guys. I recently bought eprom ecu with ecm link v3 full from a guy on the forum. Bought some more items and everything came in perfect order and works fine, except for the ecu. Maybe its something that can be easily fixed maybe not, so I need your help.
1. when I add contact, both fans start working even tho the engine is cold (I tried unplugging the termo switch and it did the same thing so its definitely the ecu)
2. I can't connect to the ecu thru the dsmlink (since its my first time using it I might be missing something, but its not finding the connection. I installed the newest software from ecmtuning and I installed win8 drivers)

Help out

Thanks

Toni

There is a list of problems that could cause connection issues but luckily ECMlink has a wiki page that outlines steps to correct it. http://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/connectionproblem

As for the fans, there are parameters that can be set to make the fans turn on early. You won't know if this is the issue until you can connect to the ECU.

Alright, I'll give it some more reading and tries and hope I get it connected... I'll let you guys know how that went. Thanks[DOUBLEPOST=1411175257][/DOUBLEPOST]so I have checked com ports and set it up correctly, I've checked the port com4 for new drivers online, it told me the drivers I have are the best atm. Still nothing. I'll check the pins on the car connector tomorrow as it says in the troubleshooting but I doubt theres any problem with that.

Try a different USB port or rebooting the system. If that doesnt work, open ecu to verify that link is installed

Tried, the chip is installed ofc, that was the first thing to check when I got the package. I'll try on a different laptop tomorrow, also I didn't pay attention on the light on the cable, people say it should blink when you connect the usb side to your laptop, and if it doesn't, the cable might be bad?[DOUBLEPOST=1411178986][/DOUBLEPOST]
