I've got new suspension on the way for my 97 GST and will be lowering it 2 inches on a shock/spring combo. So I know a rear camber adjustment is going to be VERY well needed. And I know the bolts in the rear upper control arm are a M10x1.25 and the new bolts need to be 30mm long and at least an 8.8 grade stainless bolt.

But I came across M10x1.25 30mm ARP bolts on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/311016587874?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT and was wondering if these are a good or bad idea to use on a makeshift rear camber kit.

That's going to get expensive you need 8 for each side, and I think you want longer than that. Just go to Ace hardware and get 10.9 grade bolts and washers length you need. Don't forget if your lowering you will need to shim the control arm out take out the camber you created lowering. There's plenty of info on this site on what you need and how to do it.

You can use them.... but grade 8.8 bolts are much cheaper and work just as well, you can get grade 10.9 bolts for less, and those ARP's aren't long enough (they need to be at least 40mm long).

Thanks for the info everybody, I thought I read on a few pages that 30mm was all I would need. And I thought only 4 bolts were needed for each side, I have an ACE I can hit up later.[DOUBLEPOST=1410562018][/DOUBLEPOST]Went to the VFAQ and it seems the camber "kit" you can buy off there came with M10x1.25 30mm bolts. There are only 8 bolts all together four on each side... And with the price of 10.9 and even 8.8 bolts at my hardware stores. The package of 5 M10x1.25 30mm ARP bolts are cheaper after buying two sets. 10 ARP bolts for $23, and I already have all the washers I need... So I'm gonna do the ARP bolts and see how they work. I'll let you all know!

it was already stated that 30mm length will not work. you will need 40mm

also, where are you checking for bolts? $23 is spendy. i bought some 3.5 inch 8.8's just the other day, 12 IIRC and spend about 4 bux...

To beat a dead horse...

I ordered the 30mm ARP bolts because I wanted too, and they fit perfect used 5 washers on each bolt and my camber with a 2" drop is just about perfect. Thanks.

So why even ask people on here their opinion if you aren't going to listen to it? This site is getting full of useless threads like this.

I recommend not using washer and bolt because of the flex and noise it creates especially at 2 inch drop, buy full rear camber kit like this where it makes the upper a arm solid with no noise with poly washers and 8 grade 10 bolts and washers sold on ebay for 65 bucks

Because in the short time I've started to post on this forum I've noticed it has "elite" members that are arrogant and spread false information to the public. Just because I've got a low post count on this forum does not make me the typical noob such as others.

I'm all about correcting false information so when I ordered the ARP bolts and was able to use them with no problems what so ever at 30mm I felt the need to correct those who say you NEED a 40mm bolt. So not such a useless thread after all huh? Plus it's fun to talk shit and piss off the so called proven post count whores...

When you mentioned a 2" drop, I assumed you would need several washers to correct your rear camber.

used 5 washers on each bolt

see post #9 http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/is-this-it-to-adjust-rear-camber.463567/

You want M10 x 1.25 x 30-40mm (depending on how many washers you use). Use the longest one that will work with the number of washers you end up using yet won't bottom out when tightened. As I recall 30mm works with 3 washers, 40mm for more. Too short and not enough threads will engage so it can (and did on me) pop out and damage the threads.

Anyway, I'm glad you're happy with the results.
