Dude you nailed it. It's almost always diesels for me too! There is no way in hell I'm getting coal rolled on me, . And I dont understand it. Can't I just drive home in peace. And then u catch a light with a brand new 2015 Sti , and the driver will normally just turn their nose up at you. If you only knew how bad I'll drag your a**. That's what I tell myself

Well, a WOT pull from 50-60 in 5th @ 23psi will roll some too, rather than drop to third. Either way they get drug

When the Eclipse was my only car, I had people wanting to race all the time. It has no decals on the back to indicate if it's an RS, GS, GS-T or GSX. I had a Mazda(?) pull up beside me on the highway once and rev repeatedly so I could hear their BOV. Did I mention it was snowing (maybe they thought I had AWD....)? I'm holding onto it because I like the way it looks (well, looked before all the door dings and the paint started fading) and it's easy to mod/work on. To deter anyone from bothering me while I'm driving (ie wanting to race), I have no gauges on the A-pillar and no visible gauges in general, tinted windows, and a dynomax ultra flo muffler without a tip painted black.

i have a galant and a talon and they have the same mods.
the talon gets respect just having a front mount. talons have street credibility.
the galant gets no respect at all. ever. lowered, rims and front mount and still nothing. zero street cred.
we never got the vr4's so all there was is the awd n/a or fwd 1.8 or 2.0. nobody knows what they are.
i do like the disbelief from people when they test the galant.
driving the talon feels like its constantly having to prove something to someone, almost too much street cred really.

I always have pickup trucks try to race me! It's really annoying when its a diesel too.....they roll coal right next to my open driver side window -_-

Everytime i go to the gas station and feel up, kids are breakdancing in front of my car. When they pick on me and im in the mood

, majority of the time there smelling my exhaust.

What wheels are those? I must have. I have various cars pull on me everytime I leave the house, especially at school. Had a ford expedition pull away from me today and an n/a constantly rev his ebay muffler at me today in the parking lot.

It's not so bad in a 1g. Most people don't even know what it is and I love that. Just always seems my luck, always on the other side of the highway I See a new sti or evo x, something actually worth messing with, and never get the chance too. I don't promote street racing at all, I say leave it at the track, or Atleast a back road with no one around. That being said..... I do like getting like a half a length behind, say a Subaru BRZ whatever they are, that way they can hear you spool up a nice 18 or 20lbs. Those are the silliest cars IMHO, and anyone you talk top days they are a "drivers" car, how can it be any fun with 168hp....:idontknow:. Take one for a test drive they may be gutless but u will be plesently suprised with the handling

I've had a ton of folks try to goad me into a race and I'll usually let them make fools of themselves, revving or peeling out in traffic.

It's usually some teen in a bucket that looks like it crashed into aisle 5 at Autozone or a middle aged wannabe car guy in their brand new stock + wheels/exhaust Charger.

Then there's the guys who are just curious to see where they stand if we open up from a roll.. The only two I've given in for this year were some older non-douchey looking dudes, one in a GTR with an AMS sticker and the other was in a 2015 Viper SRT.

The Viper was real close at the initial hit (dat NA torque) as brake-boosting can only do so much.. but put bus lengths on him when spooled, the GTR was much closer. To be fair, the Viper is harder to drive.

Both would probably kill me from a dig with my current tires/gearing.

There's a guy in my neighborhood with a bright orange Mclaren MP4-12C... I'd be curious to see how that would go from a roll.

Where do you guys live? Indiana sucks.
You're in Kouts! Only thing close to Kouts is Valparaiso, even then the scene there is pretty dead.
Shadyhill speedway on the weekend has some cars out there "Medaryville area"
I always laugh while driving through kouts, the coffee shop there with Kouts Koffee Kup on the roof.. rofl

Kouts cops are kroooked as shit too, I avoid your town like the plague!

The kouts koffee kup changed to Georges, but we do still have kouts kinder Kare. Lol. And yes I hate living here and thanks for the tip.,

On the riding your ass subject, just wash your windshield a time or two and that usually gets the "knats" off your bumper. Even did it to a highway patrol that seemed to want to follow me very close but never passed me. Washed the windshield, then watched as he used his to clean up after me. After that, he decided it was time to pass and go on his merry way. :sneaky: Just a tip for the "bumper huggers". And I too get that kinda of race crap all the time, but teach my sons by example as I take them to the track a hour away to practice our skills on Friday nights, (when my car was running, down right now with a bad rod but soon to be back with extensive upgrades from my current profile, I hope...crossing fingers) :thumb:

I've always wanted to turn around my hatch sprayer for that reason! Use it as anti rear bumper hugger! If a cop is riding my ass and tries to pass me, I"m gonna make him work for it, and have my passenger record it, as he's probably passing illegally anyways and might want to pull me over for making him work!
Go pro or Dash mounted camera is a must!

It's not so bad in a 1g. Most people don't even know what it is

Pretty much my experience. I've been driving a 1g for the last five years and I've been "challenged" maybe five times. If people see you zipping around lanes and you look like you're engaged with driving, then yeah of course they'll try and get a race out of you. Cruise normally with traffic and you won't attract any attention.

Same goes for my '91 300ZX. There's no hiding what that thing is. If I drive spiritedly, everything from pickup trucks to imports want a go from the stop light. But, if I drive like an old man, no one's interested.

Moral of my post: ease off the gas pedal and no one will want to 'Fast n Furious' with you.

Good point as posted above! Haha all these rules fly right out the window you see a car full of attractive women tho.. I do feel like sometimes it's the car telling me he needs boost. Cops never buy that story

Love that story!!! :thumb:

I drove by the local gas station and 5 hondas parked in a line like a mini car show. All of them standing in front of their cars. All heads turned my way as soon as I got within a half block. I flipped them all off at one time and laughed. My first and best dsm moment.

6-7ish years ago when I had a beat up 1G, no one really bothered me but the car was so abused by a previous owner it looked like your average early 90's crap box. Rattle can primer with no prep underneath, primered over flame vinyls, dents and dings and half-sanded everywhere, no trim on the doors, side-skirts gone. Non-turbo front bumper. Car ran 8.1x(1/8th mile obviously) on a 14B, Evo 560s, 2G MAF, cat-delete and 2.5" cat back, Dejon UICP/LICP, leaky POS RFL BOV. Car was an Auto with all the 5-speed turbo related parts(cams, exhaust manifold, 02 housing, ECU, etc). Best part about that setup was there was no front-mount, and it was a magnaflow muffler so it looked perfectly stock like a 1.8L base.
No one bothered me at all, cops didn't care a bit. This was the car.

Soon as I swapped all the parts over to the clean shell below, however and upgraded to a FMIC, every ricer douche and diesel moron saw it as "time to race!"

If you plasti dip it you run the risk of it not doing its job effectively. I wanted to paint mine semi-flat black for the same reason but black doesn't dissipate heat as well. Just want to point that out. Plasti dip may take up some much needed air space so that it works as a heat exchanger.

Plastidipping a FMIC will make it useless :( It will probably produce higher temps.
Painting a FMIC black is all aesthetics with a small downfall. Painting it black hurts performance from a roll but helps when your stopped due to conduction/radiation with no airflow. FMIC's are convection designed, so any air flow with a painted FMIC you will have higher temps compared to silver FMIC's.
