Just a mile up the road from me is a nice looking 1991 talon tsi I'll be getting a closer look at it in the next day or so and post some pictures. I've talked with the owner over the phone and he said he stopped driving due to it overheating and it slipped 4 teeth on the timing. I currently have a 1990 eclipse gst that I have the engine pulled so what I planned on doing was just rebuilding my engine and swapping it in.
I offered him $1200 for it, it's 100% complete stock car and it was unmolested due to an older guy owning it. He said the transmission is fine and nothing weird besides overheating and jumping time when he last drove it. From the road no rust or dents that I could see I'll post pictures up soon as I get them. So would $1200 be a fair price or should I try to go down to $1000? I planned to offer less depending on seeing the rest of the car and what all needed fixed.
