I have a Black Talon Tsi and was wondering if anybody got any ideas for an interesting paint job i like the factory black but was also looking at the evo x black or blue. i got the whole car down to bare metal right now car was original black. I also wanted to see a fast and the furious car down in black/red but I cant do that to my car. I am looking for a moderate cooler not candy green.

its a 1997
I wished I could paint it clear but i found too many dents and dings but i though about going with a bear metal finish and get metal bumper covers custom now that would be cool

If the car is completely stripped and your jamming it out then the sky is the limit. If your just doing the exterior and not jamming it out I would keep it black. You can always add a color flake to the clear to keep it black but get that hint of color. That's what I did with mine. Added red flake which is only visible at certain angles.

If it's a 2G TSI, Kona Blue. If it's a 1G Talon, Belize Green or black cherry.

/thread.
I like blue but I never saw a blue dsm that looked good its a 97 tsi but it has eclipse body I will do door jams thats what I like about black though it dosn't look bad if you have a red car with black engine, jams, ect. but vice versea forget it.

I love dark blues but again I love it on evo but when I see it on eclipse it dosn't look the best in photos my car is striped to bare metal and is going to be primed soon bumpers side-skirts removed

I like red but I cant do it funny story my mom has dreams and had a dream of me crashing and dying in a red car so she wont let me paint it red and I am trying for a very dark color almost black but not quite is what i am looking for.

I stripped the body down and delivered it to the painter. I couldn't tell you how much time or effort he put into it, but I know it's looking very good. I couldn't even begin to fathom what the cost for a job like this would be. We bartered over a motorcycle for the labor and $ for the supplies.

I gave him a little liberty in selecting the color. I provided the factory paint code and he asked if he could experiment a little. I figured why the hell not, he's got the eye. He'd been shooting for 20+ years and teaches for PPG in a heated, down draft booth tucked in the back of the painter's supply store he manages.

He's still got all of the odds and ends to spray, but the chassis is done. Wait until you see it when it's all back together... have a towel ready- LOL.

The chassis is home now.

There's just enough flake in it to pop in the sun, but nothing too crazy that screams bass boat.
