Tuned @ Early Peformance on AWD Dyno (in ground dyno...very nice)

Finally getting the bugs ironed out of the setup and have made a few passes since the shootout.

This year at the shootout I wasn't able to 60' the car because it kept pushing through the brakes at any rpm we set the 2step at. With a 2.0 60' the car was going 10.0 @ 146

Week or so after the shootout we figured out what it was and headed back to the track.
Same tune from the shootout the car comes off the trailer 9.22 @ 148 at 35psi

Bumped the boost up 5psi
Car goes 9.15 @ 146

Both passes I short shifted the car at 8k all 3 gears like a sissy

That night there was a oil down on the track and it was late so we just went home.

Went back a week later with only the changes of upping the 2step 100 rpm and to not be a punk and rev the car out.

Off the trailer the car cuts a 1.31 60' and goes 8.93 @ 146 40psi to set the new 3586HTA record.
(Car was tuned at Early Performance by Kevin Collins. Car is run off a Haltech Sport 2000. Kevin was onsite at the track to keep adjusting the tune)

Very low attendance and it getting very cold at the track the physical track conditions went to **** watching cars not hook up so called it a night. Going to make some more changes and head back soon before the weather really gets too cold. This current tune is on 9* of timing and 40 psi. More boost to go

Thanks to Forced Performance for making BAD ASS turbos that work!!!

Nice work on a 62mm turbo!

Nice, but I think devin schultz was in the 8's in like 2010 on a 35R.

Devin went 8.98 and no discredit to him because the car does work. Seeing it MIR last year it was probably THE single cleanest DSM I've ever seen and it makes passes down the track, so awesome.

Still 8's on a 6X mm turbo is a job well done, not many guys are doing it and they have substantially more stripped lightweight cars. I've never seen the OP's car but to me it looks very in tact and turns a good number, so good job to him. No nitrous to be found on the car is better yet. None of this "we only used it to spool" junk. Just good honest numbers.

Is it just me or the audio isn't working on the videos? But good job nonetheless.

It is just excellent seeing a 62mm and under turbo into the 8's. It would be nice to see some back up passes on a competition day but the races in PA seem to be getting canceled a lot this year. Its also nice to see a good pass before the good fall air hits the northeast and the glory passes from T&T days show up in peoples signatures. The DA gets REALLY good in the northeast in the fall, I know that is when all my best passes came with compressor limited turbos.

This is awesome. Ya know today I got my head ready and decided to torque her down and perform the leakdown test while its fresh and not in the car. Needed a good quality torque wrench so i head over to my dad's place. Now, this guy is a really bright dude. Im talking 160 IQ....hes a clinical engineer, as am I, but he's one of those guys who just knows a LOT about a LOT of things. Always new hobbies etc etc....

To my point: He simply would not believe me that these 2L dsms would do 9's. He just had the hardest time. I tell him "ya know, a lot of these guys are driving cars that are street legal AND do mid 9's or low 10s, its an awd/turbo thing. They're just that fast, no smoke n mirrors, most dont have filled blocks or anything crazy(some do or half filled but you get my point)"
He once owned a 93 mustang gt that he did a lot of work to and after riding in my fwd w a 55mm turbo he did say it was one of the fastest cars hes ever been in. It's just so hard for some people to grasp what awd and 600+whp can and will do! Im going to send him links of all your runs and maybe a link to this thread. Hey dad!! its josh!

Sorry to jack but this was fresh on my mind and yet another dsm turning ridiculous numbers. Oh, and he claimed that the cars running 9s couldnt possibly last more than, idk, 10 or 20 runs and would overheat if driven on the street. I'm sure there are quite a few dsms with AC/PS full interior, full weight running deep in to the 10s on slicks.
Just silly how even seasoned, rational, intelligent people, even guys who come from running v8s in the quarter, they just cant understand a 2L engine being that fast. Kind of funny. Ill give him another ride when im AT and awd swapped :)

Great work and badass car doubled. Can i ask what it weighs?

They are potent little cars with autos, we have raped everything on the street around here in the last few months with a stock motor stock auto trans in a 1g and a 6266, turn it up to 38 psi just to make it fun and it puts 10+ cars on all the low 10 high 9 sec rwd cars in the 1/8 on the street. LOL

Very nice! When will you be going back to prp? I'd lime to see that car in action! As I am in the middle of building one my self it be nice to see another completed and something I can compare too:thumb:

October 18th is the next time I will be able to get the car to the track. Turn the boost up a few more psi to see what it will do.

That's damn good! Question, What rpm are you launching at? Those vacuum pumps are really the best route on holding the car back at the line im assuming? Also how do you like the convertor? I'm really stuck on which I should get for my s366 2g.

Launch the car @ 4000 2g converter is tough because of soo many options out there. Sinister, Precision, Bradco Tough call on the 2g's. If you had a 1g I would say Sinister all the way because I have direct experience with it. Contact Mike @ sinister and see what he has for your power level and what you're looking for.

Thanks man appreciate it

What are you guys spinning that motor to? I would imagine it would have to be pretty high to get the converter to couple.

:DI need someone to help me put together something like this LOL I'm tired of reading 109999 threads just lemme copy LOL :hellyeah:
