So question... is it possible for crankcase pressure to be the sole culprit of a leaky valve cover and possibly oil pan?(may or may not be the problem) When I first fired it up yesterday I had a bad issue with oil leaking from a few spots where bolts were not tightened down all the way(threads were mildly stripped) and from the bolts in the plug area... like oil was coming through them. After taking it around the block oil was literally dripping from my oil pan in a few spots. My catch can setup was 2 ports from valve cover to catch can and that was it. This stuck me as the biggest issue last night as there was no way for the crankcase pressure to relieve itself.

So today, I modified my catch can(which just so happens to be threaded for an OEM PCV valve) and ran a 3rd line to the intake mani vacuum source with a PCV valve coming from the catch can. Re-mounted the valve cover and finger tightened the bolts down in the diagonal pattern several times until they were all barely snug. Fired it up about 30 minutes ago and inspected everything as it warmed up to operating temp... no leaks. Valve cover looks squeaky clean and so I took it around the block, went WOT one good time and came back. Parked it... nothing from the oil pan. No drips or spots at all. This really surprises me and worries me at the same time. last night I was pretty sure I was going to have to drop the oil pan and reseal it with grey RTV, but now I'm not sure I need too???

I also had an issue with the clutch pedal yesterday(car has been sitting for a year before yesterday), but the clutch pedal basically went to the floor and stayed. So after doing some research earlier today I bled the clutch with the help of my roommate. Did it quite a number of times. I tried the slave-push method while adjusting the rod to find the sweet spot right before it "stops", but I never did. Most of the time I heard liquid sound like it was "bubbling". Come to find it had been flowing out of the resevoir. So I pretty much wasted all my time and had to rebled the system(LOL). So I said screw it and adjusted the rod to what "looked" like a normal position compared to the other pedals. The clutch "feels" normal now for the most part, but I know I need to go at it again to fine tune it. I watched the jackstransmission video on adjusting the clutch, so I'm not sure what I did wrong as far as the slave-push/rod adjustment goes. Any ideas?

Also, pics. Before and after of engine bay.

Day I bought it, June, 2013

Seems to me the catch can should be vented to begin with the pressure would need somewhere to go normal PVC jut recycles into the intake usually but if the pressure gets high it will push out at every weak point it can find my dads engine dyno we had a bbf that littlerly blow the dipstick out if the hole from the positive pressure it was becaus a line was pinched.. Cl ur Lines it's not infers of for small animals or insects to some how get in and get stuck

your catch can isnt catching anything. either connect to the pcv and the intake manifold (vacuum) or the fresh air vent and too before the turbo in your intake pipe.

or get another can and do both for the best. you could just put a vent on the can as it sits, but it still wouldnt be ideal.

this is how i have mine set up. crudely drawn
