Yeah my clutch change was super easy, but it also helps I don't have much left in the engine bay. LOL

Yeah...its got problems....but my ACT is still for sale 'wink wink'

And dropping a tranny? closer to 2hr...unless 1gs are more painful than 2gs...
I meant start to finish, fastest I've done is 7 hours.

Anybody have a spare gauge bezel clear plastic? Seemed to have...lost mine!

End of Sept i'll be a another owner of a 95 tsi awd Here in Saskatoon

So the front diff went on my 3000GT so I'm looking for a good used 6spd transmission if anyone knows where one is. In the meantime I'll be getting the Eclipse back on the road.

No the Eclipse is running good, it's just needs suspension pretty badly as it's all stock and 34 years old haha

And so far I haven't found a trans yet for the VR-4, no one seems to have a 6spd without a whole car.

What about sending the 6 speed out for a stock rebuild? I know Jack does a stage one rebuild for around $1200-1300.

My Talon has been down for pretty well the whole summer, got maybe 400km on it all year. When the clutch blew up, I ordered a TMZ Southbend clutch, well I still cant get it engage correctly. Ive replaced the clutch, flywheel surface, clutch fork and pivot ball, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and rebuilt the clutch pedal and it still drags. Last thing I can do is replace my Fidanza flywheel with a chromoly one, and shim the pivot ball...

Other than that, I've purchased a Cyclone intake manifold and am going to give it a shot on the car to make it a bit more fun around the streets, and probably going to install my meth injection kit sometime this winter.

Man that sucks about the clutch, I ditched my ACT setup for the exact same clutch and I don't know why I waited so long to get a pp for the kevlar disc I got a few years back - a wonderful combination. I didn't shim it and it came out perfect. I know that Tim Zimmer highly highly recommends not shimming the pivot ball with a southbend setup. When you had the flywheel out, did you check the step height of it? What issue are you having for the engagement?

Let me know what you do for your meth injection. In the spring I need to get one put in because I hate being restricted to one gas station and my timing is stupid low!

p.s. the talon started right up after being stored the entire summer...didn't even disconnect the battery!

The front diff is what went inside the trans so I'd still have to get a replacement diff or buy a whole new one. A Quafie diff is darn near $1000 alone.

Is does sound like your flywheel is stepped incorrectly.

Ahh well thats unfortunate, hopefully you can find something used soon. What about a JDM Transmission, would one of them work? Could call someone like JDM Source to see if they could bring one in.

Flywheel step was checked prior to install and it was within spec. Trust me, I've done everything I can to get this to work properly. Next step is pull the transmission, measure the thickness of the new disk and discuss with SouthBend Directly. If they say its within spec, then I will be shimming the pivot ball, and replacing my flywheel with a ACT or Comp just because Tim recommends them.

The issue I am having is clutch drag at about 5000+ rpm. I have done everything Tim has recommended and it still isnt completely disengaging. I've read quite a few threads about people who say that you absolutely have to shim the pivot ball regardless, so I know I am not the only person with the same issue.

yeah im on the hunt again... Mike, I'd like to sit down and talk with you. I found a 93 steath R/T TT for 2500 just wondering what your experience was.

Also short notice.. But a few of us are having dinner tonight at 7pm Bonanza all welcome and invited.

I don't get a lot of online time..

Looks nice!

I finally found a transmission for the 3000GT in Edmonton so now it's time to order a clutch setup. :D

Turns out I wouldn't have been able to use a JDM trans anyway, they have a different final drive ratio.

Mike i'll be in Edmonton Monday and tues this week.. You need shipping??

Nope transmission is already home, thanks though.

no prob

anyone got a parts car?

needing parts

You need 2g parts or 1g parts?

Mike looking for 2g, I need the following and the list will grow.

tie rods ball joints, and suspension

I'll take suggestions looking at stm for some parts, might as well upgrade. I need to pass sask inspection. as it's a bc car.

I got all winter to get parts.. Figure i'll put 1000 - 1500 / month into upgrades and maintence
