Well as the title says, i acquired my first dsm yesterday, a 91 talon. Well if anybody can give me some tips about this car or some good places where i can purchase parts from that would be awesome. I came from a world of Nissan and Toyota so DSM world is new to me. I live around the Joliet/Bolingbrook area if anyone wants to meet up.

Thanks everyone for the links, I'm going to be ordering stuff tomorrow.

Is you're car stock? I looked at you profile and I didn't see any mods. So you're car is stock right? If so I would be getting a boost gauge and a wideband first. Make sure you're maintenance is up to date. Get a manual boost controller with the wideband and the boost gauge. Look on the forums for junkyard mods for good cheap mods. Hard sidemount piping will help eliminate any boost leaks. Sorry if you feel insulted because you knew this already but I had to assume with you're profile.

Oh no i'm not insulted at all, i do appreciate the help. I havent set up my profile yet because as soon as i signed up i started researching. I havent had a chance to put up the mods. I already have a manual boost controller and boost gauge installed and i am currently looking at which wideband i should order. Any other advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Like i said before this is my first time owning a dsm so i need all the help i can get.

Wow! Another DSM in town. I'll be more then happy to help you out if you need some help. I stay out behind the Jewels...

Behind the jewels? on weber road? i live in the lakewood falls area right off taylor and budler

Innovative had the quckest and most accurate wideband right now what I have been told. With these cars maintenance is the key, I know many cars can go with out much but these cars are premedonas and we must keep them happy or we will on the side of the road calling AAA LOL I realize you just bought the car and you want to make it beast but honestly, take it slow and you won't make too many mistakes.

hey if you are in the chicago land area you should join the chicago dsm facebook page. their are people in the chicagoland area selling parts and setting up meets and stuff.

Here is the link. Log In | Facebook

Yes we do. Chitowndsm.com sign up on there for anyone who hasn't yet and introduce yourself. Just follow the rules of the site and you should be fine.. That's where most of our discussions start for meets. Lately the site has been kind of quiet but we still post meets and events.

Welcome, it's always good to see another DSMer in town. Hit me up if you guys wanna meet up somewhere. I'm from niles, and hardly ever see dsms here

Hey guys! I am also a first time DSM owner. My buddy owned one and have some basic knowledge on them. Just purchased a 95' gs-t. I am very happy with the purchase. What do you guys recommend I do first?? I'm looking into changing spark plugs/wires. Its running in a open downpipe right now, which I hate how loud it is LOL. What do I need to do to fix that?? Thanks for the help in advance! And looking forward to meeting some fellow DSMers :thumb:
