I just installed my Megan Racing short shifter. This is my second DSM and second Megan short shifter, this time i added some metal to the stock pivot point to assure the purple pivot shoulder piece fit snug with no play. I took my time and followed the B&M instructions, put loctite where advised, etc.

Once i finished i noticed i have to use quite a bit of force (2-3x as much as stock) to get it into gear. No weird binding, or extra notchiness, it actually feels great, minus the extra pressure needed to move the shifter in general.

What could be going on here? Has anyone experienced this? I read a post about this and the only advice i found was to give it a couple of days and it should loosen up. However, in my previous car, although i don't remember the pressure being quite this great, my shifter cables abruptly snapped while using this shifter (cause unknown), but i cant help but think about that everytime i shift now.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

My only possible thought would be maybe they came unadjusted. I know while taking out my transmission one of my cables was spun and I had to readjust its position. Shifter is still slightly to the right too much, but its better than it was.

How do i adjust the cables? Would this be an inside the cabin or under the hood adjustment? And is it really possible for them to come unadjusted by just replacing the shifter? I guess its possible i may have spun the shifter cable that attaches to the bottom of the shifter with the E-Clip, but would that bit of movement cause this much disparity?

There are two brackets on the transmission that can be loosened and adjusted to help the feel of the shifter. I had to do it on 2 of my gst's

Hmmm everything ive researched says that 2g shifter cables can NOT be adjusted, anyone else have any input?

When I installed mine going into 1and 2 the head on the little stud for one of the linkages would catch and create a pain. So I fiddled with the order of washers to make it fit properly.

Hmm not quite sure what you're talking about, but ill crack it open and see what i can see. I looked under the hood and didnt see of anyway to adjust the bracket.[DOUBLEPOST=1409787194][/DOUBLEPOST]Checked over everything and it all looks great... No one has had a much stiffer shifter after putting in the Megan?
