Hey guys, I recently brought my 90 AWD TSI Talon into a shop to have them replace the clutch, I would have done it myself but I just moved and don't have anywhere near the tools to repair it. I stopped in today to check on the progress and the bell housing on my transmission had a nice chunk that cracked and broke off. Long story short, I need a new bell housing.
From what I'm finding, a new one is going to be roughly 450 to 500 bucks. I have found a few transmissions for 1g eclipse's and even a 90 AWD transmission for $300. My question holds the weight as to whether I can find a transmission cheaper than that, but I'm curious to know if the 91-94 bell housings will still be compatible with my 90?
I also didn't know if anyone knew someone in Raleigh, NC who can weld something like this... I'm dirt poor right now and think this would be a cheaper fix?
