I just installed my Megan Racing short shifter. This is my second DSM and second Megan short shifter, this time i added some metal to the stock pivot point to assure the purple pivot shoulder piece fit snug with no play. I took my time and followed the B&M instructions, put loctite where advised, etc.
Once i finished i noticed i have to use quite a bit of force (2-3x as much as stock) to get it into gear. No weird binding, or extra notchiness, it actually feels great, minus the extra pressure needed to move the shifter in general.
What could be going on here? Has anyone experienced this? I read a post about this and the only advice i found was to give it a couple of days and it should loosen up. However, in my previous car, although i don't remember the pressure being quite this great, my shifter cables abruptly snapped while using this shifter (cause unknown), but i cant help but think about that everytime i shift now.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
