Hey guys, I just got my NGR Type S blow off valve (better remake of the Greddy type S) and wondering how all of you have it setup. I know I am going to have to test n fine tune it after the install, but I want to know how you have Installed yours.

I have read a lot about the single spring mod, and read a lot about the extra, lower nipple.

I want to know if you hooked up both nipples or just the top nipple.

Also would like to know if you did the single spring mod, or using both springs that came with it.

I understand the single springs mod.
But have heard a LOT of mixed opinions on the lower nipple.

I have read that the lower nipple is only to be used in low boost applications (stock Honda on 6psi) to help the bov open. But I have also read its only for high boost applications (built Supra running 30psi LOL)

So please post up how your is installed, which spring(s) and which nipple(s) you used.

Thanks guys!

The lower port is more helpful for high boost situations where you have to crank the adjustment screw down to get super tight spring pressure so that the BOV doesn't leak as the boost rises. When you get it this tight, the vacuum pressure alone can struggle to pull open the valve so by adding a pressure (pre TB plate) source to the low side of the diaphragm, you assure quick opening as soon as the throttle plate closes since your pressure differential is no longer atmosphere vs. intake vacuum, it is now pressure vs. vacuum. The lower port works well any time that it is used which is why it is there in the first place, and between it and the twin springs, the Type S setup is as adjustable as a Push type valve is going to get. The key is simply to match the adjustment of all three (springs, pressure port, and adjustment screw) to meet the needs of whatever type of pressure you plan to run!

There is a great chart on one of the EVO forums that was made after a good amount of data was collected as to what the optimal choice for each would be at different pressures so don't just assume you need the single spring mod, that is pretty much for low boost operation only from my recollection. Good luck and enjoy I love my original Type S, although I also love my SSQV which takes all of zero time to setup LOL. They both perform well, just comes down to sound preference...

Anyone else care to share their Type-S setup?

Single spring with both ports. I've tried every different setup & I prefer this to any. I feel using both ports on a street application is the best because it is responsive with light throttle as well as WOT.
