I bought a 92 laser awd to get running and flip, but my buying got out of hand and I think I might just keep it haha
Car started out with a built bottom end acl bearings, eagle rods, wiseco pistons
Arp head studs and a cosmetic gasket
Car also had big evo 16g
Front mount intercooler, 2 sets of rc injectors, 2 spare turbos a 13b, and a t25
Car has dsm link and maf translater
Once I got the car home I realized I needed to go through it as it was completely missing the timing cover
But did allow me to see the gates timing belt
Also the bs' ar removed
Some of the wiring is sketchy so I need to clean that up

Then I started buying parts ( I work at a speed shop, a real one, not like pep boys) so I get a decent deal on parts

First parts I bought were for the fuel system
Aeromotive billet fail, Aeromotive fpr, fuel lab filter, walbro 450 (e85), Fragola performance fuel lines 8an feed 6an return
Welding fittings into the hanger for feed and return, Id 2000 injectors, all fittings are AN fittings and ORB fittings for optimal flow

Next I moved onto the valvetrain, bc springs Nd retainers and 280 cams and Manley stainless valves
Took the cylinder head off to start the assembly process, and found pine needles and dirt on top of the pistons, so now everything is coming out and coming apart and gone over
Purchased the fp manifold Nd the fp green turbo with internal gate
Going to have t purchase a timing cover as the car doesn't have 1
Also going to buy a new bs eliminator kit as I don't want any what ifs when. Put the engine back together
Purchased mashimoto radiator
Also bought a JM fab cop plate and built a cop setup using msd weather pack connector

Still need to get the engine out and g through it but the head is being done now
Will put new head studs and main studs and a kingly girdle in it this time around
I will probably also do a new oil pump and filter housing along with water pump
May decide to do a fluidampr as well but the purchasing is done now till next spring when mowing and landscape jobs pick back up
I'm now on save mode to get me through the winter when I'm not mowing
I'll post pics as I get stuff done of order new parts but I'll be on break for a little while
Hopefully when I get the engine apart it's all good, I'll put acl race bearings in and prol a new set of rings

Building this car a s street car only
As. Don't ever get to a track nor do I have a trailer big enough for a car

Me personally not a big fan of e85... ive seen it do more bad than good... yes guys use it and make big numbers and yes its cheaper. one thing to keep in mind is that there is very little margin for error when tuning with e85. But hey if you know what your doin with it, it works. You should make good power with your setup, good meaning 500whp range depending on how you tune it.Id go 93/94 octane route or a 93/110 mix to be safe if your aggressive on the timing as I am myself, as the fp green loves pump gas! Def recommend upgrading link to v3 and going with the speed density tuning other than v2 using the gm maf. should def be a fun reliable street car either way you go... just depends on your preferences... good luck with the build should be a fun car!

I may actually do that as it seems to be a little more accurate
But I'm sticking me e85
It's proven and as long as everything is set up for e85 you won't have problems

ordered in the cometic head gasket so the machine shop can finish the cylinder head, dropping that off tomorrow along with the GSC no tick lifters

Ya I have to say i am an old school fan of race fuel on drag day and pump gas on normal days. If you go on a road trip and run into a town with no e-85 you are screwed. V3 dsmlink is a must and speed or gm maf is good. Anything 3" is gonna be better then stock shit.

Ok, so I'm switching up my build a little
Getting rid of the fp green and fp manifold
I want 600-650whp as this car will only get driven when I want to beat on it
Was thinking fp black or a fp gt3586r
But I want a semi street able turbo as the motor is still a 2.0
Gonna go with a JM fab manifold, tial gate JM fab o2 housing and a JM fab race intake manifold

Any turbo suggestions would be very helpful
Will be run on e85

changed alot
pulled the motor apart and the eagle rods were stock rods and the wiseco pistons were mahle .020 over pistons

so have a Manley crank and manley turbo tuff rods on order
gonna drop the motor off at Jackson Auto Machine to do the machining and assembly with their venolia pistons.

Also, its going to be a 2.3 now!!!
still thinking about either a gtx3582r
or the FP gt3586r from forced performance if i can swap out with my green turbo i bought last month[DOUBLEPOST=1412269537][/DOUBLEPOST]forgot to mention jusmx141 helping me with turbo recommendation and swapping from brian crower cams to the GSC s2 cams
thanks man

just got in my manley 100mm crank and turbo tufff rods
going to be dropping off the block and parts to Jackson Auto Machine hopefully next wednesday to get started on the bottom end. head is done

I would go with FP gt3586r. I love FP turbos and if you can afford one I would choose them. You might consider twin scroll as well and that might work better since your going with a 2.3 liter block. It also may help compensate for the 35r's laggy boost. But it hits hard when boost comes in! Good luck and keep us updated.
