Me my buddy and my dad all were brainstorming how the best way to load and unload it. That was the easiest and quickest way we thought of.

On another note 160$ worth of -8,10, and 12 an fittings and lines were bought today at a local race shop. -8 and 10 for the catch can which ill probably be buying from Calan. -12 for the holset oil drain.

Heres a response to earlier's update.

Two -8 weldable bungs
One -10 steel weldable bung
One -10 alum weldable bung
Three -8 90* push locks
One -8 45* push lock
One -10 90* push lock
Two -12 45* push lock
6' -8 nylon braided line
3' -10 nylon braided line
3' -12 nylon braided line

This is all for the Catch can setup as well as the oil drain line. I definitely need something that isnt going to leak for an oil drain. No to mention something that is going to prevent my dipstick from hitting my hood and spraying oil everywhere under heavy boost. I know I missed one fitting and a flange for the oil drain, for those that pay attention. I bought all of these from a local race car shop that has these fittings in stock. Ill be getting them very soon.

Tonight Ill probably be ordering a couple or 3 v-band clamps. Then hitting the TIG welders at work to get some time under my belt to weld all of this together. Id rather do this myself than make a guy at work do it. Plus I want to learn to TIG so its a plus plus!!

Edit- 3" v band clamps ordered this morning (1-17)

Side note! I took some time after work and jumped on one of our TIG welders around to try and lay down some beads for the first time. Started from never picking up a torch ever to laying down a pretty nice bead in about 10 welds. Cant wait to start working my way to some thinner material!! I plan on welding my V band clamps myself, as well as my -12 bung on the oil pan and -10 to the intake pipe for the intake.

First couple welds. Middle one was me trying to just push a puddle, no filler. Other two I started to try some filler, didnt go so well. Went from then to a couple butt joints and then onto some scrap tubular pipe we had from our engines..

Whelp, finally started doing some stuff on the car today. Aside from getting my AN fittings, I got three 3'' v-band clamps for the exhaust.

Well, first I took off the downpipe and put it back in about 10 times to figure out where the best place to put my first clamp would be. Then, after I cut it I put two exhaust studs in the turbine housing of the turbo since it was hard to get bolts in those locations and made sure they would clear and I'd be able to get the dp in and out with them in. Then I started welding on the vband clamps. Only got one done today. Tomorrow Im going to finish them up. Not sure why I could get a good bead in one area and not in another but Im going to clean them up tomorrow!

This is a comparison of a stock clutch master and one you'd buy from a local parts store... BUY OEM!!!

Most recent update is a not so happy one. During my test drive for the trans all went well with that, however the hose to my pcv cracked causing a huge boost leak and the car to run terrible. Found a couple extra bolts and plugged both sides of the hoses not thinking much of it. Drove back home and cleaned up the shop, getting ready to take the spyder for the rest of the day. Finished up, started it up and went to air a tire up, at that point I noticed it was just bellowing out smoke like hell..

Popped the hood since smoke was coming from there as well as the tail pipe. Saw the turbo was covered in what I thought was oil. So, I parked the car and planned to look at it later when I had time. Well, Monday I had time.. At first when I started taking the car apart I was thinking head gasket the whole time, oil in the charge pipe from turbo to intercooler, and milky oil in the turbine housing and downpipe. Like a lot!! Upon checking the plugs and piston tops all was clean so that couldnt have been right.

Pulled the manifold and turbo, runners were clean so the issue had to be from the turbo back. Come to find out that it was all due to me plugging my pcv for those few minutes. The crankcase was unable to vent so it started to push though the turbo seals.

This oil ended up being from a leak from the oil drain leaking into the coupler from the turbo to ic pipe.

Well fellers, finally drove the car home last night! Bought me a rebuild kit for the Holset and got that back on the car Saturday. Then that night I had a buddy of mine powder coat my valve cover, Calan catch can and wastegates. Wanted a kind of crimson red with flake but came out more black cherry flake. Oh well looks good! Welded a bung onto my oil pan (pain in the ass by the way!) Now its time to just drive it and get some miles on this clutch and trans. Going to do some cold weather dial in today too.

Thought Id give you guys a little update. There hasnt really much going on with the car except driving it! Took the car to a open house/dyno day yesterday.

I estimated the car would make around 460 to the tires, I was close! 452hp and 438tq. Boost peaked at 30psi and fell to 28. I found out after the pulls that both of the barbs on the waste gates were loose. Im definitely running out of fuel. Ran pretty damn lean the entire pull. I think at one point I saw 13.5 afr. :notgood:I know Im in no way a professional tuner. This is fresh off the street tuned by me knowing pretty much nothing! haha

Stock 7 bolt
Unported head, BC272s and BC springs
Stock intake manifold
T/s Hx35 stock 12cm housing with a Redjack manifold
Single rewired 255, afpr and Delphi 1000s

452dynograph.jpg

Well after my Dyno I found some boost leaks. Car definitely should have made more power.. But oh well.. Made it to the track yesterday, it was pretty hot and dense air. Boost was down a bit at 25 psi. 3400+ race wight, on street tires. Best of the two passes we were able to slide in, left lane.

11.6 timeslip.jpg

Time to get this pig into the 10s!!! Latest purchase. RCI 2200s. There is another dyno day coming up in about 3 weeks. Ill be installing these this weekend and hopefully I can get to the track before then. I also have to wire in my flex fuel sensor that I've had for months now.

2200injectors.jpg

Well wasnt able to make the dyno day that was this weekend.. Car has been acting up the last few days and I just havent had time to dink with it.. I got these installed and tuned on e85 at ~29 psi. Mr Peepers helped me out with the tuning. Linktools was estimating 533!! :thumb: I dont think its making that much but I know its around 500 to the ground! However, I now need yet another clutch.. This tz/fe kevlar disc just cant handle the amount of torque Im making. Heres a video of the night we dialed it in. We also tried a little antilag instead of just the stutterbox. Instead of ~3 psi @ 5900 it was making 10 psi at 4800. Left HARD!!

Well i thought id give you guys an update on the plans for this off season. My three main goals for this winter are to get the car to 3000lbs, full cage and a twin disc. Getting the car down to my weight goal while adding a cage i think is going to be a chore. However its going to be chromoly so that *should* save me some weight.

Im retiring the car from daily driver status although itll see quite a bit of street time. Hopefully i can get the most life out of a twin disc as i can. Radio is getting tossed, and all other factory bracing. Ive contemplated trying out a tubular rear subframe but still on the edge since money is kind if toght this year due to a baby on the way. We'll see! So there ya go!

Got the interior stripped and sound deadening out, speakers gone and top motors as well as some other stuff that was just adding weight.

Car looks great man, youve come along way, love it. Going full "race car" now are ya?

Hopefully this summer we can do all that body work to match the engine bay I made!
