I'm an idiot and bought a gsx exhaust thinking they were all the same. After trying to install and doing research I know the gst has a bend while the gsx is straight and gas tanks are different.

My question is, I already have the exhaust, can I try to get a shop to make me a custom flex pipe for the middle part and will the rest bolt on and fit? Basically, what do I have to change from a GSX exhaust to fit on a GST.

Are you talking Just taking about the downpipe? The gst looks like it makes a sharp bend towards the middle while the gsx runs next to it suppose you could cut and reweld it. Everything after the cat is completely different

I was looking at doing the opposite of you a couple years back since my fwd had a thermal exhaust on it but converting it to fit my awd swap would end up being a cut and piece it together hack job that I just got an awd exhaust.
The awd sets the exhaust off center of the car to clear the drive shaft while the fwd pretty much centers it up in the tunnel. Then the awd goes under the tank while fwd goes around the tank. Most of the hanger points are also different so your not just going to have to change the pipe routing but also mess with the hanger points on the car and the exhaust as well. Look for someone doing an awd swap and you can trade with them. The cost of shipping will be likely alot less than have a shop change it. Another option would be to convert your gas tank over to the awd tank and still have to mess with some hanger points but even with that cost would far outweigh just doing a trade. You would have some stuff done for an awd swap though. :)

Put up a want to trade ad.
What brand of exhaust is it? Expensive? Used? That might help figure out if trying to mod it to work would be worth it or sell/trade it. If it's an expensive name brand that is popular you might be able to sell it and buy what you need.

You could take it to an exhaust shop and get it modified, Mine was hand built from an exhaust shop down in Mass for a few hundred $$ and gets the job done right. I think you'd be better off just doing an AWD swap , you gain traction, awesomeness and you don't have to fool with your exhaust :p

yeah but money and time constraints kind of kill it for me. @ambush91 where in mass did you get your done?

Honestly not sure where It was done at, It was already on the car when I bought it. picked it up from some kid in Somerset, said his friend works at some performance place there in town so I'd imagine he was who did the work but an exhaust shop isn't too hard to find, I live in a small town in NH and we have 3 exhaust shops within 10 miles of my house. Going rate around here for a custom exhaust set-up is about $300. What kind of exhaust system did you pick up?I have a spyder that I'm AWD swapping right now that will need an exhaust system before I'm done.
