MY 95 eagle talon tsi doesnt allow me to go past 4.5k. it has a 16g turbo still running stock boost and 190 fuel pump and a recirculating hks BOV and intake with a cone air filter and intercooler. I have no fpr but from what ive read online it shouldn't be a huge deal. my air fuel gauge reads that im running super rich when i hit boost so i was thinking it could be a boost leak but i don't really have a good way to check that right now. my boost gauge will read up to like 8 or 9 psi. the only other thing i was thinking could be wrong is the maf. when i hit like 4.5 its not at all like hitting a brick wall like ive heard other people Describe with the similar problem. it just goes to 4.5 and just doesn't feel like going any higher i guess LOL. also there is no CEL on. also it idles a lil rough and when i shift it seems to almost stall and then the rpm goes back up[DOUBLEPOST=1407719826][/DOUBLEPOST]I checked to make sure all my piping had good conections but I couldn't find any thing bad I also looked at the fins on my turbo and they seemed fine[DOUBLEPOST=1407732207][/DOUBLEPOST]also forgot to say that it doesn't make any weird noises and it feels pretty slow when i try to accelerate.

With all your extra turbo stuff, defiantly check all your lines, pipes, and everything else and asses if there could be a leak.. The whole almost dying and rough idle, check the MAS. Make sure it's not all clogged up. I've had issues where half the screen was blocked and that was causing some major issues. And the roughness between shift.. Maybe a compression issue? Have you checked yet? It shouldn't be Almaty dying out on you.. And the whole 4.5k and that's about it?... That's a difficult one to figure.. I'd do some more research and ask around. Seems like maybe a computer based issue that's making it not allow you to go past that!

Yeah I think I'm gonna use a code scanner on it to see if anything comes up. I don't think the cel works now that I think about it. I remember my 240sx had a problem similar to this and it was the maf. I wasn't sure if a big enough boost leak could cause a problem like that. But it makes sense because it seems like the air fuel ratio is so rich when boost builds

Reminds me of when my alternator was shot. Suddeny I couldn't rev past a certain amount, and it got lower, lower... 'till the car could barely move at all. Turned off the car and it wouldn't start anymore, dead battery.

i checked the code scanner and came up with waste gate sensor malfunction , generator fr terminal circuit and serial communication link and evap emission system vent control unit

I had the same issue and it was my battery. Had to wrench the terminal down pretty hard to get it to finally run but cheap fix.

I don't think it's my battery all the conections looked good[DOUBLEPOST=1408487519][/DOUBLEPOST]Yeah tightened the terminals and that didn't change anything. Also I realized I can Rev up to like 5.5k when in neutral

I know plenty of people say the 190 doesn't require an afpr but I would bet that's why you are running richer then you should be. Couple that with a possible boost leak and that could be the cause of the rich condition. Not revving past 4.5 could be a clogged cat. After driving it around some stop and take a look under the car and see if it's glowing at all. Do you have any odd smells?? A clogged cat can produce a sulfery smell. As far as the almost stalling between shifts check around for vaccum leaks.

mine just started doing something similar. if i get on it at about 4grand my car keeps cutting out. like it sputters hard as hell an has a really rough idle as well. and my car is straight piped. and i have walboro 255 fuel pump, afpr, egr block off plate, dsmlink, and plx sm-afr. any ideas

I would check for boost leaks, check for pre turbo leaks (between maf and turbo) and check the cam timing. If those check good i would do some checking into the fuel pressure. You could have a leak inside the tank from the pump to sending unit.

boost leaks +1[DOUBLEPOST=1408785599][/DOUBLEPOST]verify all intake pipes and pipe connectors are secure, and not ripped... When my car has done this in the past I usually found a hole the size of my finger in a silicon coupler or the ic core sometimes. Try pushing the pipes around and making them flex. I had the stock piece on the throttle body elbow hiding a huge gash. When in vac (at idle) the cut sucked in on itself and looked perfectly fine. But a boost leak text revealed the hole when it opened up like one of those old school coin purses

I couldn't really tell what it was when I bought it but after taking it apart it's a egay 16g. I'm just gonna get a used 14b. Also I don't know if I mentioned this but it revs to like 5.5k in neutral
