What was everyones favorite part and why?
Mine was watching the English racing gt-r beat their own personal best in the quarter mile. Watching the Abele brothers go down the track in the last run together was pretty cool in my opinion as well. I know alot of people thought it was stupid, but I thought it was a pretty decent thing to do.

I enjoyed completing the DSM shootout. While my car was likely the slowest to go down the track, it made the 1700 mile journey, looked great when it made two passes in TT (even though they were terribly slow) and inspired a lot of questions and conversations. I meet a lot of people I've talked to for years and even got 25mpg on 9 hour return trip home, some of which was with the top up and A/C on.

To recap: drove 1700 miles, ran in the shootout and didn't have a single hick-up out of the car the entire weekend. There were many winners at the shootout. I feel like I was one of them.

How did you do 1700mi in 9hrs? It takes me 16hrs to drive 1100mi from TX and that's if I don't stop...

He left the strip and kept going, pegged the whole way!!!! :)

That's pretty awesome though. Drive the car there on a 9 hour trip, beat on it, and drive 9 hours home. Very impressive - and lucky.

I assume he meant 850 each way. The wording he used makes it a little difficult to comprehend.
Roanoke is only 444miles from Norwalk oh btw.

My 1,700 figure was based on a total trip estimation. I didn't stay anywhere close to the Shootout events though, and also had a bit of driving for things like dinners, errands, ice cream, seeing family and so forth.

Roanoke VA > Princeton WV > Lambertvile MI > Wakeman OH > Lambertville MI > Whitehouse OH > Maumee OH > Lambertville MI > Norwalk OH > Made 2 passes on the drag strip > Lambertville OH > Roanoke VA.

I guess im the only one that thought 5 hours of qualifying after a rain delay was a total fail.

Wasnt the qualifying issue resolved a couple years ago. Was there a particular reason why the qualifying was not done on saturday?

I paid for test and tune for Sunday and only got to run once. Was a waste of cash. Got 3 in the day before. Was kind of my fault, I lost a fuel pump after the car show so I could not run on Friday so I lost some passes there.

These are straight from The Shootout Facebook page and straight from Dave Buschur. This clears up a lot including the 3rd round of qualifying.
