I've read that the 2 bolts that bolt the starter plate to block, behind the flywheel, aren't necessary due to the dowels and trans bolts aligning it.

Can anyone confirm this?

I have been running my car for a year without them and no problems so far.dowel pins and the rest of the bolts should keep it in place.
