Hey Dave I called espn to come get the shootout on the air. The lady I spoke with had heard of it and was very interested and said she would be on it right away! Here's the number I called maybe you can call and help them out with more info!
(866) 317-3776. I gave them this link and your contact, but maybe everyone should start emailing, tweeting, Facebook whatever to espn and tell them to broadcast the shootout for us!!

Yet another great shootout! I ran time trials in my non turbo for the hell of it and still had a blast. Doesn't seem like the track officials knew the rules as well as the participants though. Twice when I left the track with my car they gave me an attitude about pulling into the pit area until I showed them my 2 day wristband, and even then had to explain I was running my car and had to point out the numbers on my windshield. Other than that it was a great time with a lot of good people, looking forward to next year.

Just for the hell of it anyone have a head count for attendance this year?

Hey guys so there's something I've been thinking about and I thought I'd just ask. I understand the relation between a dsm and a evo, what I don't understand is how a gtr fits in this event yet a vehicle like a sti or srt 4 are excluded. Just something I was curious about if anyone has an answer.

Shops that work with DSM's and Evos (considered "bang for your buck" performance platforms) have migrated to the GTR for a lot of their new development and products. In terms of price/performance, a GTR is a really great platform. Typically other makes are done by different shops, i.e. you wont see APR bringing a DSM to the Shootout, they do VW/Audi. GTRS are something a lot of the shops that frequent the shootout all have in common.

STI's had their own race with Mitsubishi's years ago here and there wasn't enough of them showed up to continue the race. SRT4's are FWD and not even remotely the same. GTR's have been added because they are bad ass and many shops who specialized in Mitsubishi's started doing them too, such as us.
