I have recently tuned my 420a on aem fic which works great as far as I can see. Engine was rebuilt w eagle rods Wisco pistons blah blah blah, I did notice however that I would heat up pretty fast. The cooling is stock is that somthing I have to upgrade to control heat? Heater works fine and cools the engine when I turn it on but it heats up too fast maybe after 30 min of driving it starts to heat up. Also is there anyway to get rid of CEL code for map sensor? It would be a lot easier to pass emissions if that light wasn't on. Thanks!

How fast it heats up isn't really an issue. Your issue would be if it's over heating. Is it over heating? Any idea what your coolant temp actually is?

On my N/A reading the cooling info off the Megasquirt (actual number not somewhere in between H and C) it shows my coolant level comes up pretty quick as well and I never had any issues. I have an AfCO radiator but it was the same before with the stocker.

Also after 30 mins of driving any car even stock should be plenty warmed up by then.

Any sort of thermal mitigation on your turbo and associated piping? When I had my RS with a Hahn kit, I started to overheat until I wrapped the DP and threw a blanket on the turbo. Noticed at least a 50º drop in under-hood temps after that.

A more efficient radiator will help, but if it's in really close proximity to the turbo and associated hardware, it may not make a difference.

I can't say with 100% certainty that it will fix the problem, but every little bit of heat you can dissipate or mitigate will help.

I don't want you to take that as "Go buy these parts because that'll fix it."

I'd start with finding out exactly what your coolant temps are after warm-up and after a cruise.

So I have the turbo blanket, new radiator and new fans in. I took it on the freeway for about an hour and it was perfect temp. As soon as I get off the freeway, it starts heating up again and turn on heater to stop it from overheating. Now what? The fans stay on I don't know what the problem is now
