Would be nice to see how these guys are building their cars.

Do you know what weights they are getting the chassis down to?

Running an all motor that powerful on the street would be an awesome ride, no lag just instant go. Has any of them done 4cyl builds or are they all doing v6's.

I think the idea MJCanada had about doing a stroked 4g64 would be pretty cool. If I ever did something like this I would probably go that route myself.

In factory trim the 2dr Mirage curb weight is 2,125lbs, so with the driver and weight loss they should be around 1,800-2,000lbs... "El Potencia" Mirage has no interior and dash and the driver is a skinny guy that should be around 140lbs, he should be one of the lightest Mirage of the group... I can ask them since I have all of them in facebook and check if they have ever weight their car at the track scale...

Most of them are 4cyl, only a few are v6...

Didnt realize the Mirage was that light to start out with. As light as I got my dsm, im sure I could get one of those way down there.

El Potencia all motor V6 Mirage went 10.3 @ 135 mph @ Oct 2013...

This is awesome!!! Great job!! Are these all clutch cars? Any of them Autos? I've always like the idea of building a super light 93-96 mirage with high compression 2.4 stroker and use the turbo auto trans.

Took my plans. That's the reasoning I was asking about the engine mounting. Now that I know the mirage chassis is lighter than a 1g, I'm selling off my 1g n/a shell.

Build it!:rocks: I've always enjoyed bracket racing and an auto NA car would be competitive.

After reading this thread I was motivated to ditch the turbo , 250hp at the front wheels on methanol through a 5 speed.4G64 twincam 2.1 9.8:1 comp atm, Im going out to run it this Saturday weather permitting. I have no idea what I will run but its loud!!!

I finally got to take it out and I did 3 passes
first pass was a [email protected] with a 2.19 60, just driving it off the line and short shifting
second pass was a [email protected] with a 2.09 60 and revving it to 9000 each gear
third pass I decided ti try the 2 step at 6500 and did a 1.80 60 but broke the centre diff(4wd evo2 box)
All in all I am very happy with the result and I will be locking the centre diff and it will be ready for next weekend.
the gearing is way too tall as I am crossing the line at the top of third gear too

I think in a perfect run a 11.5-11.6 is on the cards. Im looking into a fwd tranny atm too, here in Australia we didn't have any turbo fwd cars so
I might have to do some research.

The 3000gt Fwd turbo cars have the same internal f5m33 trans. Now I'm not sure if it'll bolt up but from what I gathered from Tim Z, the internals are exactly the same. I do know the gear ratios are the same.

Thanks for the info, I will look into that. I pulled the gearbox apart, the guy I bought it from told me the
centre diff was locked but it wasn't,He only locked the viscous. So im going to lock it for now and try to find a FWD box.

I raced at a import meet here in Brisbane on Saturday and it was a blast I did 6 passes for the day

pass 1 [email protected]

pass 2 [email protected]

pass 3 [email protected]

pass 4 [email protected]

pass 5 [email protected](backed off bracket race)

pass 6 [email protected](lost by .082 sooo close to the finals)
Set my 2step to 6500 and it launched great.
I was 60' in the 1.7's all day too
I need shorter gearing so im looking into getting that sorted.[DOUBLEPOST=1409517771][/DOUBLEPOST]

You need to start a thread with all your info and some pics of your car. I'm sure others would love what you've accomplished already.

The car definitely has 11s in it. The all motor honda guys get high 11s with that mph. From the looks of it, shorter ratio and a bit longer first gear.
