I just got my new act street light flywheel and I'm using it with my spec stage 2+ clutch but do I need to have my flywheel step hight checked even tho it's new??

I dont see where you said you used google. But had you, you would have found it very easily. Also Robert's link also shows the correct step height for our flywheel/clutch set ups. Yes, even though your flywheel is new you should have it checked. Unless your new clutch set up requires a specific step run the stock specs. This is the first page that popped up in google when I just typed it in..

".608" to .610" is ideal for DSM performance clutches. Up to .613" will work. Do not try to use anything shallower than .608" Stock is .612" "
