Finally got my TRE Stage 2 transmission today! will post pics in a bit.

Nice build so Far! when are you going to get your car tuned? I'm going to boostin this spring and I heard they are pretty good. I want to know how good they do with your car. I have a lot of work to do still before I go as well haha

I don't know if I'm having Devin do it anymore. I think I've decided on a place in Greenwood IN. It's called "Fathouse Fabrications". Adam Blevins will be using their dyno to tune my car.

Which leads me to the a question I have for everyone. I want to run e85 when I get my 2000cc injectors and pte 5858. Right now I'm running a Turbonetics .50 trim, and pte 1000cc. Should I go ahead and run E-85? or should I just get tuned on pump gas for now. Bottom line question is how much WHP gain are we talking I could possibly gain, from running E85 on my current set up over pump gas.

I would be as bold to say that E85 will make a night and day difference. I wont say a specific WHP because there's too many variables.

If you had knock in your tune before, you can say good bye to it.

You will max your timing advance out most likely (somewhere around 22*)
and you will most likely be able to lean out as far as 12.5-13:1 at WOT

To give you an idea, on a big16g w/E85 I made 443hp

a big16g's efficiency range is 37-40 Lbs/min

I think you can do that math and figure out the benefits

Boostin Performance is a very competent group. Devin, Kristin and crew were very professional and pleasant to work with.

It's worth the drive.

Oh yes, they're hella good people and absolutely know what they're doing. They're just about 5 hours further than I wanna drive, Fathouse is about 45 min from me. LOL.

I think you just answered my ?? LOL. I may go to boostin still, its just a drive to get all the way up there and something not be right, and they cant tune it. My turbo is "rated" at 450 wheel.. idk how someone can "rate" a turbo by power.. but yeah. I'm hoping to get over 450 wheel.

Update on the car, motor is 85% assembled , trans just needs clutch fork installed, and still need to buy a clutch :ohdamn: Going to run stock tune, and stock 450cc for about 1000 miles, then its getting tuned. Still have to install my STM ABS delete kit, paint the bay, and install everything to make it drive LOL. Itll come together one day. :D Ill post some pics of some new stuff soon as I get around to taking them.

Personally, I'd break it in the way I plan on running it.
But opinions vary.... GREATLY.

If you want to be conservative, you can push low boost, but IMO nothing seals piston rings like some good ol fashion beatin.

As far as turbo rating's you can get a close estimate with the turbo's airflow.

Rule of thumb (a very fat, wide line thumb) is that for every LB/min of airflow is 10hp

Find out your turbo's airflow efficiency and you can get a good idea.

The efficiency range can be pushed slightly, but at the expense of it's health. And there's always a line where power stops and damage risk starts.

Where the compressor is efficient and what it can flow are two entirely different things..

Then, going further.. there are the parts of the map you will land in (PR/VE/CID/RPM) and what parts will be available (Turbine Wheel/Housing)

How much you can make from a 1lb/min is heavily dependent on fuel and the tune, more so than most other variables. Of which there are admittedly many.

^^^ you guys are getting into it more than my knowledge LOL. I can always learn though!

Well Boostin is the closest place to me in WI only about an hour hour and a half away and I have no clue of anyone else with an AWD dyno around here...

I know of 4 around me, boostin being one of them. The other is Fathouse Fabrications, Adam Blevins has his own shop with one as well, and the other is a diesel place.

Thought I might chime in here being from Indiana..I know all the guys in our local Fort Wayne club have gotten their cars tuned by Keith at Pure Tuning in Toledo. Might want to look into him as well. I'm stuck between Boostin and Pure myself..

Ahhhhh!!! Forgot about them! My buddy Josh Watson (from Ft. Wayne) had his buddies car tuned by them, they did a great job. Ran into some issues, but nothing the tune caused, timing idler started squeaking so they called it quits. Still made over 5 I believe.

Finally got some work done on this thing. Got a new slave, slave master, STM ABS delete installed. Bay painted (turned out alright, but wish it woulda came out a little better) BUT its getting there!!!

was going to plug the PS, but after some more opinions, and little more research i think im going to loop them after filling the rack.

Nice build man! I am in Jeffersonville, IN and I am getting ready to start my 95 Talon TSi Build.

Well alot of stuff has happened.. got more parts. Had an oil pump go out before i really got to make any power. Trashed alot of parts :((( Have been down in my dsm life for a while now. Currently building another motor to do it all again but going for more power this time. Sorry for not updating :( On e85 and 15psi it spun all four launching on 6lbs. Was fun. will be more fun!
