Ok I recently swapped out a auto 99 eclipse 420a to a standard from a 97. The car just doesn't feel right it feels like there is not the power it should have. I hoped that I could swap the ecu and eliminate the tcu and it didn't help. I am hoping there is am easy fix without swapping the whole wiring harness. I know the ecu has a different tune or something

I have used a AT ecu in a MT car with no issues. Vice versa as well. IDK whats going on but i wouldnt think its the ecu. Then again, i was modding my 420a and this was a very very long time ago.

You should feel a tiny bit more power with a manual but its not night n day difference. ATs dont "soak" up too much power, and when you're starting with 120hp, removing any drivetrain loss still isnt going to feel a whole lot different.

It's a really notable loss in power... sorry I hadn't got on here but I've worked every night since I posted that.... but we did the swap because the auto went out and o had a extra standard at home. The rear pump went out and it was cheaper to just swap it out[DOUBLEPOST=1407981607][/DOUBLEPOST]See I've had 2 5spd 97 eclipses the tranny we put in that 99 was my first eclipses tranny and it originally was out of a 97 talon the motor on it started to knock and I happened to come across another whole car pretty cheap so I decided to keep my old one as a parts car since it still did drive.
