Does anyone know if theres a suspension setup out there that's priced and have the quality thats inbetween JIC (if they still make them for our cars) and the muller/ohlins ones.
I'd like to upgrade my current setup "AGX and Prokit" too something much better but dont know if i want to drop that much on the muller right now,Still have other things i want to get first. Definetly dont want that chinese/ebay junk. My car has pretty much everything upgraded suspension wise right now, except the struts/springs. My goal for the car is to have a great handling street car,one that can handle all those potholes, uneven lanes, can maneuver around road debri well etc, LOL.Also on occasion be able to handle the track type enviroment.

Piece together your own Koni Yellow and Hypercoil springs with coilover sleeves. I personally went with Ground control coilover springs and am very happy with the setup. Ride quality is great and they WAY outperform the AGX/Pro kit that I replaced!!!

I got the threaded sleeves, springs and bump stops from ground control to fit Koni Yellow shocks.

I bought the Koni Yellows separately. They have discontinued the 1g rears, but the 2g rears fit fine. You do have to keep the front 1g struts and put the Koni yellow inserts inside them. There is a vfaq.

I found them on sale and got a good deal. I have about $1050 into the setup.

I have a set of 1g/GVR-4 specific Koni Yellows with H&R springs that are now for sale since I've installed the KW's. PM me if you are interested. Definitely a step above of what you have. The AGX's are horrible. I know because I have had them before.

Konis for 1Gs are not great compared to what you can buy now for Evolutions that will fit 1G DSMs:

I'm pretty sure you could even skip welding and special order from a company the bottom mount on a set of coilovers of your choosing. I'd look for a used set of Ohlins/Bilstein/Something with local rebuilder in your area, so you're not SOL when it's rebuild time. JIC is mediocre, but "good enough" for most people, although as I have shown above, 1Gs really have a lot more options with the ability to scavenge EVO suspension.

KW would also be fine for street use, but I've never seen any worthwhile data to support them other than internet talk.

The KW's are an awesome coilover when setup correctly, especially by likes of such as Robispec. I installed a setup in my GVR-4 recently, that were were Robispec that a local was using in his Evo an won many 1st place events at the local tracks such as Buttonwillow. Very many have had great success with them.

Koni's are also fantastic for the price especially.

Try AMR engineering. They can make you whatever you want and they offer them for your car. You can choose swift or hyperco springs and your own spring rates of course. They are also in america and offer a lifetime warranty.
