I bought my 98 gsx with a 1g swap a while ago and when I got it it had a 6 puck clutch for maybe close to stock hp. Not sure why they put that in but whatever so it finally failed and I replaced it. When I got it back in I hooked up as many wires as I could remember/see from some pics and hooked up the battery it started right up. I had it running for a bit since it sat for a while but I shut it off because the wideband, safc, and turbo timer werent working.

Mod list (what im aware of from previous owner)
4g63 from 1g supposedly 91
Safc (not sure what model)
Turbo timer (unknown)
Wideband
3in apexi exhaust header back
16g w/ evoIII manifold & arp studs
GM maf w/ translator (no clue how it works)
Stock intercooler w/ ghetto turbo to intake piping. Pieced together.

I kept bleeding the slave cyl to make the clutch a bit smoother but it was taking too long and I just wanted to go home before it got dark. I literally backed it in to the garage and shut it off. When I went back the next day I didnt even start it I just started playing with the wires. I started to realize that I have no idea what half this stuff is so I stopped before I made things worse.

Current situation is car will crank but not start. All plugs were cleaned and put back in. Safc, tur tim, and wideband do not even turn on when Key is on but engine off. Please help!

Check and make sure you have all the grounds connected to something metal. There are at least four ground wires in the engine bay. Also there is a diagram of a 2G engine bay on DSMTuners. Just do a search and at least one thread will have a link to it. It was real helpful to me. Even to identify what was in the engine bay.

Here's a few quick things I would recommend you looking at.

1. make sure your plugs and wires are in the right firing order since it's a 1g motor. i dont remeber off the top of my head what it is. (when I did my 6bolt swap the first initial start up it started fine. turned it off and I was no longer able to start it. went over everything and noticed my firing order was wrong. redid it and it car started once again. to this day i'm still trying to figure out how it started if i was in the wrong order).

2. do you have something like the RRE 1g CAS harness or a home made one? make sure the coil pack us connected to the right connector. on that side there's 2 triangle shaped connectors that you can easily mix up.

3. check your coolant temp sensor. if it's faulty or not plugged in it may not start or have a very hard time starting until your motor is warmed up.
