Wasn't sure where to put this question but I was wondering if anyone has ever removed the front part of there 1g I got noted I the pic the part outlined in yellow. and replaced it with a different one. reason for removing it is there are hack jobs allover the front end noted in red and if any one has done this before I wanted to know if it would be easier to try and fix the hack job or just replace the whole front part because some one went ape shit with a cut off wheel trying to fit the FMIC in and cut the shit out of the pass side to fit a air filter. and on the left side i have know idea why they cut what they did maybe they were nuts. any ways its kind of hard to relly see what I want to remove and replace but you get the idea.

If there is nothing that needs to fasten or bolt down in the locations where the metal is cut, then I would just weld some braces in there and call it a day. That would be much easier than trying to cut the whole front off, and cut another piece and line it up perfectly and weld it all back in. That's from my point of view anyway.

I know I could just weld in braces and fix the problem but I would like the car to look nice to not see any of the hack job there plus I do have a donor car witch is a 91 witch I would think is the same in the front as a 90 right.

I was looking at it closer would it just be a matter of drilling out the spot welds to remove the front part and then doing the same on my car as long as I take good measurement's and put the new one right back in the same spot and welding it back up im thinking that should work pretty slick

Where i work at we have done both, drill the weld spots and weld together. this makes it look like nothing happened, but is more time consuming. Or you can weld braces and hide the hack job easier and faster to get it going. it just depends on what you want and are ready to do.

we it sealed the deal last night I pulled the fenders and bumper off the donor car and found out it has been wrecked before so i would not be gaining anything buy using the front end part. so I am just going to repair the bad parts.
