Planning on a better season this year..
2g ECU, 2g MAF, Innovate MTX-L, new oem clutch master cylinder, oem damper, some needed exhaust gaskets, matching the 14b hotside to the evo3 manifold, and best of all.. ecmlink

Now I just need new tires and injectors.

bump, anyone interested in a organized dsm cruise?

Happy Easter! Not my best picture but it was raining and was night time..oh well

When it finally gets warm enough for me to finish off this season's upgrades without going numb in the fingers, definitely. Soon.. soon.

Turned out to be a great night for a cruise. Sounded like a couple vehicles collided after screwing around in the Flea Whiskey's parking lot.

I was, however, a little surprised to see me driving the only DSM in the city that particular night.. hurray for exclusivity.

Just glad it took an extra day for my alternator to crap out on me.

Yea i saw you out on main on the weekend! Well im about to start welding my strut towers tonight..

I spotted a beautiful biege 1Ga AWD in the Exchange district yesterday evening. Every damn thing about it was factory fresh, amazingly clean and original. It would be awesome to be able to connect with the owner. Possibly anyone here? It's a long shot..

Turns out I just needed to grind a little more on the block. I went and bought two belts, 377 and 350, because I figured I'd need something smaller. With a little more grinding, it actually tensioned up with the stock belt in the stock location, which is great because the 377 (mine was 390) would not fit no matter what I tried. There's practically no clearance between the top of the OFH and the alt itself, though, so that makes me think a 4K385 would fit better and allow more clearance. I'll take a look tomorrow to see if it's possible to get one locally.

Well, At least I get the 40-something bucks back for the belts. All that's left is to do the wiring and here's hoping the alternator I picked from Buck's works :p It's a two-wire pigtail.

Apparently NAPA has a 4K384 (39").. hmm

So the 4K390 that I had with the first alternator must have stretched because of the aforementioned ~zero space between alt and ofh. So I picked up a 4K388 from Napa and, while it fits and allows adjustment still to snug up nicely, the stock tensioner bolt is too short. The shorter the belt, the longer the needed bolt. Home Depot and Rona both didn't have an M8x1.25 that was anywhere near long enough. I'm gonna give http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/saturn-alternator-bracket-that-works-like-oem.452642/ a shot and hopefully be out Sunday night.

Yeah, I was a little optimistic about the weather wasn't I.. supposed to rain through the weekend.

I haven't heard anything else regarding it yet, or have I or my gf seen anything in the news. It was some pretty crazy shit, that's for sure. Those two are lucky they lived, but running from the scene of a single vehicle incident? sigh

Thanks; I finally have airflow to the rad which dropped my coolant temp (under 97C), alternator temp (putting out more voltage) and intake temps (by almost 10C). Just glad it didn't end up looking like ass.

Bad news..
Finally finished my passenger side strut tower rust repair to only figure out my driver's side strut tower is completely rusted out, as well as drivers side rocker...With college coming in less than a month and still working a full time job till then i've decided to part out whats left and keep the shell if i ever feel like coming back to it.

Aw shiz, I feel ya. My season may be over at the end of this month, with only maybe one more cruise in it. I've found all sorts of leaks in gaskets, TB and injector seals, and all that jazz. Tuning has become a nightmare, and I've got little to no time or money to start buying and fixing shit. Not to mention on a couple of occassions, after a good 2 through 4th gear pull @ 18-20psi, it can't maintain set idle and timing is whack. At one point, I was idling at 2 degrees retarded, with half that due to the Evo 8 map running 5 at 750 and 1000rpm, and the other half it pulling 7 degrees somewhere. I gots to check my ignition timing, at the very least.

And then sometimes it's beastly. It's freakin nuts.

Oh, and let us not forget that I have to compensate about 7% on MAFComp at idle, just to get 0.25-0.26/rev. I didn't think I'd need to do that on a 2g ECU and 2g MAS, but maybe the shorty filter is screwing up the airflow. My curve looks like a lazy S with the head chopped off. -7% at start, and 10% by 500Hz. I can no longer get it to consistently idle at 900 after driving for a short bit. I'm always 50-100 high, but steady.

So this is the crap you're missing out on. I feel for you, really
