Car is at my place finally, In a day the head is off, axles out and block is ready to pull and be dissembled tomorrow.

    Its now sound matted up in this corner.
    1. Heater back together, new core and weather stripping. I got 3 heater core from different places and non of them ft quite right, this one was close but still had to bend tubes and force it in. bracket still did not go over tube like oem.

    Got most of the interior back together today, every piece cleaned, and more sanding.

    Got block back from machine shop too.

    Still prepping and painting parts, should be putting engine together over the weekend along with hopefully the bay fully prepped.

Gonna get the black done, brake lines will be black too.

Then FINALLY start assembling the bay!
 
I did this last week, was hoping to have motor in car now but I had to leave for a week. Hopefully this weekend some progess will be made.

People say I can use the 4g63 belt still even without swapping the idler puller for a eccentric one like on the left side which is what I was going to do in the first place.
But it seems to be really tight, I didn't try too hard to put it on though.

Here is the 2.4 dohc and 2.0 gears comparison

So I was stuck for 2 weeks away from car. Got this done today though.

Thats the 4g63 belt, gates, previously put on the red parts car but only ran for a bit because he thought it had bent valve when it was BADLY blown headgasket, so basically new. No mods done to get it on but I unbolted the right bolt to the hydralic tensioner and rotated to get the belt on then put it back in place.

Pulled the pin, rotated engine a few dozen times, its smooth and lines up great every time.

With the remarked cam gears lined up to the head it puts the balancer here, pretty damn close like 1* off.

I checked tdc with a screwdriver in #1 piston spark plug hole too and it is at the point where you can rock it back and fourth slightly and does not really go up or down.

This should be all good correct?

Modify cover as necessary...

Boo, went to put transmission on and cannot find the TOB clip anywhere... SO close....

Calling dealer tomorrow, also cannot find the plug for the cas spot on the back of head that 95-96's didnt use.

Oh well organized parts and worked on wiring harness.
Need to post here in classified, have a whole car in pieces to sell pretty much LOL

Oh found out the exhuast that came with red parts car is a true apexi, 3" no cat, thought it was some cheap brand, took wire wheel to it and it cleaned up great!

There a parts list with prices on post #13

At around $5000 (About $2000 of that just being pistons, rods, bearings and machine shop, another $700 just on the head.)

Plus $1000 for the spyder and $1000 for the parts car (made back over half that on the parts car though.)
