I recently ran into a predicament, where is needed to install my holset small h1c out of necessity, ( timing belt snapped and destroyed my head, also my small 16 had sever shaft play and sounded like it was dragging when shutting off vehicle) I needed vehicle to get to work a this time its my only vehicle, my daily I am trying to put back on the road. right now I am running a 90 oil filter housing with oil cooler delete, and also running my holset from oil filter housing with a -4 feed line, and -10 drain., the housing is ported and smaller spring is installed into relief, and holset is unrestricted at this time, again out of necessity for the vehicle, I am occasionally getting little clouds of blue smoke I am guessing being oil pushed out of shaft seals? I don't know the exact oil press. I believe its getting to much oil at this point. I have a some what pieced together restrictor that I can run. also not really getting into boost much if at all right now du to the smoke, and also due to not really wanting to install the holset at that time. and not wanting to really destroy my holset either. I also have a might max OFH ported also. could the fact that I am not running a cooler delete hinder me some and give me slightly higher oil press, also no BS but have oil squirters.
 
We can't recommend a restrictor spec unless you have a solid idea of what the pressure entering the turbo is.

Also, post photos of your oil drain- the smoke you're seeing may have nothing to do with the feed line at all.

ill snap a pic of I tonight once I get home from work. on how its routed.

this is the oil drain I am using -10 socketless oil drain. routed with no kinks in hose. also was running a cometic head gasket, switched out last night to a factory style composite gasket. haven't driven the vehicle yet, have to re do timing again. im going to order the stuff to make an inline to check oil press to turbo while running. also don't know if this helps it would only do it once it got hot and had been drien for a while, and oil press would rise also on dash, on Monday it was smoking pretty bad once I got it to work, once it cooled down I wouldn't smoke again. almost like a head gasket, hence why I changed I last night. just to see if it was.
 
Here are some pics I took today. The turbo chra is slightly clocked possible cause? Had to modify mount bracket to run line.

ALL bends in the oil drain should be done with fittings- you should only require a short piece of hose to make it flexible. Your hose will eventually kink and collapse...because that's what hose does when exposed to hot oil for an extended period of time.
