Hello all...I know when you read the thread title you'll probably all sigh and wonder why another person is asking about an oil leak. But before you do, I've spent hours searching for an answer and think I know what it is, but I wanted a final opinion from people here.

I've had my 97 Talon esi for a few months now, always leaked a little oil that I noticed made its way down to the subframe (think that's what it is). About a week ago it started leaking worse (dripping onto the exhaust and burning up). Fast forward to today and its gotten to the point where I parked it until I can figure it out.

There's oil on top of the trans, all over the back drivers side of the block, all over the sub frame, etc. Its only getting worse. I lost about a quart between yesterday and today.

I've replaced the cam sensor o ring, didn't help. I'm aware that the head gaskets on these motors tend to leak from that area as well as the oil pressure sensor. I do know the valve cover leaks but I didnt think a valve cover would leak that bad. So I'm mostly looking for second opinions before I decide what to do with it. Motor has 192k on it. Thanks for the help

Thank you both, valve cover gaskets are cheap enough so I'll do that tomorrow and then clean everything up and update from there

I power washed it today at the car wash, top end is remaining clean. Still leaking onto the subframe and dripping. I noticed a rubber boot on the front of the transmission had a decent amount of oil trailing it, looked pretty fresh. Would this point to a main seal leaking into the trans and then out the little boot? I washed that area and it was one of the first to get oil soaked again.

Edit: pcv valve is maybe a month and a half old

Sorry this is all I can get tonight. I can take more tomorrow with it light out and up on jack stands.

Huh, learned something new today. That would leak oil? Wasn't sure if it would leak the fluid for the clutch instead of oil. Is that easy to replace?

Gotcha. I'll grab a friend and do that tomorrow as well as take a few more pictures. Thank you, I really appreciate the help

Pretty sure I found it...I was under it again and looks like its the oil pan gasket. Around certain bolts its soaked in fresh oil
