I'm almost done getting this car ironed out. Car is running great now without any issues, but I have one last issue. I've tried adjusting this clutch several times with no luck. I have a fidanza flywheel with ACT 2600 sprung street disc. Welded pedal assembly, new master and slave, steel clutch line, new pivot ball and fork, OEM TOB and ball bearing shifter cable bushings. I adjusted the shifter cables first, then tried adjusting the clutch with Jack's method and that was not precise enough. Then I jacked the car up and adjusted it with TRE's method. If i give the clutch to much throw it starts making a noise like the PP fingers are hitting the sprung hub. Doing TRE's method I could see some drag when hearing this noise. So my starter switch is removed so I installed a bolt to stop the pedal right before hearing this noise an still having the pedal disengaging the clutch about 2.5-3" off the floor. Now most of time its hard to get into first and reverse like the clutch is still dragging. Also if try to actually do a high rpm 1-2 shift I can barely pull the shifter out of first gear, and if I do 2nd will grind like hell. I can only do this so many times before I kill this tranny. During normal driving I can shift into second with no grinds if I granny shift. I can always down shift into second with no grinds what so ever. Kinda stumped and looking for additional ideas to try here. Really want to make the shootout this year as I've never been able to take my car there ever!
