I just recently installed my *used* MHI 14b turbo in my 2g. Replacing that POS T-25. So far I LOVE IT! Pulls a lot harder than the ol stocker. But the only thing I miss is the sound. That little T-25 was LOUD! I could start spooling it up it'd turn heads from a good distance! Zero shaft play and it boosted perfectly. Now with my 14b the spooling is quieter... much quieter. It sounds more like a whining than a whistling like the T-25. I am currently running the 14b @ 20psi max, and it still quiet... Anyone have any ideas? Is this bad? The 14b is in great condition. Zero shaft play or smoking, and it pulls hard as hell!

Normal. It's a different turbo design and the T-25 was working harder. You could throw on an aluminum intake pipe to amplify the sound, but it'll probably get drowned out once you put an exhaust on anyway

I agree with the other members. My injen intake makes a big difference in the sound of the turbo. Compared to stock intake tube and stock air box.
