i just recently got a 97 gsx 5 speed. im looking for some instructions on how to install the turbo and intercooler since the kid i got it from got a new turbo set up and i have no idea where all the lines go. so if someone could send me instructions or pictures id appreciate it

I'll be the first to ask it... What turbo is it? You don't want to throw a cheap "ebay" turbo on your car. And it would also help if you told us what turbo you have.

i honestly couldnt find who it was made by. i belive its a 16b. im sure its a cheap ebay turbo and header set but thats all i have to work with right now

Best bet would be to keep it stock then. Can you take a picture of the turbo and also a picture of the identifying numbers on the turbo?

i can take a picture when i get home. the only markings i found on it was a/r .70 on the hot side. then in the center part of the turbo i found k2 and N9. i dont know if that will help any. i just want to keep it a stock daily driver

If you just got the car I would do the maintenance on it first. Check this link out http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/dsm-maintenance-guide.476550/ Always want to make sure your foundation is strong before you build on it.

i looked over everything like you said. its all been replaced and i got a receipt from the kid i got it from stating all the parts and labor from the shop he took it to. do you know where i can find a diagram for the stock intercooler pipe routing. i got a manual for the car but it wont be here for a week

Are you trying to hook the stock intercooler back up or are you trying to find the pipes?

both. im missing the bottom intercooler pipe for the stock intercooler. so i need to find that and how to hook it up. also need to know where to hook up the oil/water lines for the turbo. i appreciate all your help

Honestly I have never tinkered with a 2g so I don't want to give any bad/wrong information. I was hoping a 2g guy would have chimed in by now.

no problem. i just got a intercooler pipe kit from ebay. took it out of the box and now they decided to tell me it only works with their intercoolers.

Have you tried a local junkyard? Maybe yours are better than mine. My junkyards do not have any turbo dsm's. Or better yet search the classifieds on here or post a want to buy ad.

I've tried the junk yards around here. everything they have is non turbo or has already been picked through. would i be better off just getting a fmic kit?

If you plan on upgrading stuff down the road, it might be wise to just get one now so you are not buying a stock set up and then aftermarket later. Who wants to buy things twice? I use a VRSF intercooler on my 1g, it's priced fair and does what I need it too.

Here's your "routing" diagrams for the OEM setup. They will vary with aftermarket parts.

do you know where i can find the bolt sizes for the oil return pipe?

The T25 uses M8 x 1.25mm pitch x 16mm long at the turbo. It uses M6 x 1.00mm pitch x 20mm long at the pan.

The MHI turbos that come stock on these cars use M6 x 1.00mm pitch all around: 16mm long at the turbo, 20mm long at the pan.
