Front O2 sensor replacement: How does the connector unlock? There seems to be a tab on both sides, which given the location, takes three hands where only one fits.

Thanks, I've tried that too. Which side of the connector: engine side, passenger side or both? If on the passenger side, between the tab and connector or between the housing and tab?

The female side of the plug has a tab on top that you press down to release the 2 connectors. This is the side coming from the harness.

The other side goes to the sensor. The tab you may see on is the tab that holds the connector to the mounting bracket. You only need to press(or lift, I forget) this one if you are trying to completely remove the sensor.

It's the O2 harness's connector that clicks to a tab on the block. The inboard, computer side connector is the one free to move once the two unlock. Counter-intuitive.

Releasing the O2 connector's engine-side from the tab - which is a bear to get to - then frees both to lift free, where they finally separate by freeing the mechanism on their opposite side.

Even tricky to describe.

^+1 yep. Here's a pic from below (assuming you have a 2g).
